Islanders get:

Canadiens get:
-Bode Wilde
-2020 1st round pick (no condition pick even with contract extension due to the fact that 2020 draft class is so deep)

TDL - Keeping Tatar and reinforcing for 20-21
Apparently Pierre LeBrun mentioned at some point this week, or perhaps even yesterday, that Canes offered Montreal a 1st in 2020 and Jake Bean for Jeff Petry and Montreal refused. Can anyone confirm that LeBrun actually mentioned this somewhere, or is Twitter fooling me again.

He did say they expressed interest in Petry and that Bean and a 1st round pick were in the table, but apparently MTL doesnt feel Bean is a true top 4 dman, dont know why they think that but its thier opinion apparently. It was on RDS in french if you're looking for it.

It’ll be 1 for 1 or maybe the Wild throw in a bottom 6 winger. They aren’t giving up a 1st lol.

LEAFS ACQUIRE DOMI
MTL would be looking for a dman for Domi since we have a surplus of forwards and the price wouldn't be something Leafs would be willing to pay.
You're talking Sandin or Liligren +

Galchenyuk for Gagner is a very poor trade for the Pens.

You're joking right? Teams don't hand out 8 year deals to players after half a season of NHL experience

Kovalchuks Actual Value

Multiple contending teams are more than willing to hold onto their draft picks over spending them foolishily. I think kovy could get a 3rd with conditions, hes not getting a pure 2nd rounder with ease, so its not a slam dunk hes getting some haul back for him.
Hes a 3rd line Winger, 2nd PP guy on a good team. Hes not taking anyone over the edge to win them the cup. A team who has struck out multiple times might panic and over pay a bit to get him but hes nto going to be a top target in super high demand TDL asset. Look at wingers at the deadline, Guys who are legit 2nd line wingers and having solid seasons are getting 2nd round picks like Zuccerello.

Kovalchuks Actual Value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ThatGuy</b></div><div>Are contending teams really willing to gamble on a player like him when it matters most??</div></div>
I think of the trade deadline has proved anything it's that contending teams tend to make that gamble when it matters most, Boston getting Rick Nash, Washington making that stupid Martin Erat trade, Toronto paying a 2nd for plekanec, there are tons of examples of teams paying a ton at the deadline for that extra depth that brings thier team to what they think is 3 complete lines or bring in that one guy that they think makes the big difference, whether it works or not is another story but if you dont gamble you never know.
Also keep in mind that a 2nd round pick only has like a 15% chance to play in the show on a regular basis, so it's actually not that big of a asset.

Nurse to Montreal at the draft
Value is probably good but the Habs will be hard pressed to keep their 1st in the draft this year barring an absolute steal.
Just because everyone else wants to play "MB hangs up" game, I'll play along and say I'd be willing to offer a counter that I personally would accept and the Habs would entertain i think. Assuming EDM finishes 16-20th in the final draft ranking, I'd be wiling to do something along the lines of:
JP
Nurse
EDM 1st (16th-21st)
for
Drouin
MTL 1st (10th-15th)
Juulsen/Vejdemo/Evans
