I think MTL can have much more than a Top 6 D-man and a low 1st.

JT Miller is better than Namestnikov and Hayes is better than Miller..</div></div>
Either way, no a 1st center.

ROR plays center? What kind of an upside is that. Always depends on your needs. Buffalo have no decent LW.
You're just describing the two players and giving all advantages to ROR. Teams need both two way and pure offensive players.
And honestly that does that change to come off a down year seriously. Every player have down year. Not like he didn't show consistency in the past 5 seasons.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>Yes extensions could be signed but I am 90% sure Pacioretty is heading out the door. He is 29 and had a huge dip in productivity this year. Do you think he is worth 2 firsts or something, because he isn't!</div></div>
Obviously extension would be mandatory to the deal. Pacioretty just want to play hockey and earn the big bucks. He spent all his career with MTL, I could see him play a major role in a team rebuild. As for his value, i'm not sure. On Feb 2018 Evander Kane was traded for a 1st and prospect... IMO Pacioretty is better than Kane.

He still have a full year at an unbelievable discount. At some point if you want good players, you'll have to pay for them. Every pure goal scorer makes around 7M$ +, that is the price that the market command. Extension could be sign right away, no?

So basically Hudon and a mid 1st could is fair return, but Pacioretty is not? You want goals, victory now and LW depth. I don't size you.

I'd rather trade for Namestnikov than K. Hayes. He is no 1st center at all. And M. Perreault is a 3rd liner, as P. Danault.

People: explain to me. Is that a question of value or a question of need? Cause honesty saying that trade isn't fair in terms of value is either strongly overvaluing ROR or strongly undervaluing Pacioretty. Good god he scored average of 35 goals in 4 back to back season with literally no valuable center.

You are Montreal, do you? You basically move down 7 spots and ends up with Ryan O'Reilly. There is some assets that are valuable to the team, but I would definitely work around that trade to have a 27 yo big center.

It is I think a decent offer. Beauvillier and Ho-Sang are sure promising but haven't prove anything comparing to Domi, who at least piled up numbers with an awful team.

I've must have miss something about Carlson. Is he a 8.5 M$ d-man? God that seems a lot of money. Not saying he's not gonna get it: he will probably. But I wouldn't be the GM stucked with that kind of contract. He is no Subban imo.

You may be right. Thinking about it though, if I'm MB, I want that trade to happen and would be ready to chip in anything that could make Botterill happy.

What is ROR worth today to the teams that miss out on JT that is what will set ROR's value..... if GMBots does not agree with the value he will retain ROR's services.</div></div>
Can be use as a reference value. No one is saying that his return should be equal to what happened 3 years ago. Again, just discussing stuff.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Sabres don’t love the idea of trading ROR. That first is the best thing moving to Buffalo and they have to send it to NYR, downgrade a center, just to save a year of age difference between ROR and Namestnikov and get a inconsistent AHL winger that MTL fans are praying works out. No thank you, not close</div></div>
The return could be discussed. But in any way, we've seen Subban traded for Weber in a intention of shuffling the deck and changing the locker room general ambiance. I don't know much about Buffalo's team other than being 31st last year and having a losing attitude, which ROR spoke on public place. I've read a lot about those locker room cliques, not helping the mood. So I don't see it necessarily as a 1 year of age difference kind of move.
