How’s a team catch up to makar and mackinnon? Should have sold, got a feeling the phones weren’t ringing. Helly and scheifele saw the writing on the wall, the most money and term coming from Winnipeg, and the marriage continues.

Utahs Dream Off-Season
Utah needs schmaultz out of the middle, and possibly swing a little longer term than stamkos has left in the tank with guentzel and or Reinhart, return of chycrnn could be interesting, along with Montour some nice adds. Would love a 2c of Hayton was supposed to be around that age group.

Next year
Jets need to go back to the drawing board on that blueline, while there at it, probably time for more than that. Mackinnon and makar in Colorado, and a revamped Dallas, basically near impossible gauntlet going forward. Ownership so scared of a rebuild, going to stick the team in purgatory for next 7 years. Props to Ottawa on there rollercoaster ride, take some ideas Winnipeg.

Fantasy-Land Offseason
Utah probably needs a 3 way deal to be In the market to move Crouse, kind of need a elc 2c that can compete in top 3 or a dman that can make top 4 or better. The late first doesn’t do a whole lot at the moment with an abundance of picks all ready.

Free Agent Splashes to Be Competitive
Will be interesting to see how quick geekie comes, much rather slot Maccelli and Guenther higher, possibly a spot to sell on Crouse and or schmaultz, like the Stephenson add, might be slotted a little high and maybe a little too much term, but solid add. Not sure toffoli is the right add here, little light on foot speed, very good streaky scorer, but his window may not extend long enough, good vet, but don’t want to block the kids coming. Could be one crazy summer here, with possibly moving some cap, ridiculous amount of cap to start with and abundance of picks also. Possibly a spot for a werenski or chabot to find a home, could get rather creative and possibly a laine home, but that’s a no agreement on here proposition.

Utah probably hits the ufa market or picks for cap, unless there’s direct request to be traded asap out of there, like the goalie in slapshot tell Detroit bull,,,, trade me right ,,,,,,, now scenario. Don’t see many kids or contracts moved out of there. Definitely a need to trade picks, and owner wants to make a splash cap wise, so ufas going to be kicking the tires on Utah to go get there gold come July. Possibly a couple dman and maybe a center, not a guy making 4 million dollars more than the next guy, when you want some of your elcs getting some prime minutes.

But not locking 30+ year old Guentzel longterm</div></div>
Possibly right, but they have an abundance of plugs on there blueline, they need some studs. That forward group could be awesome with some patience and not too many roadblocks in front of the kids coming fast.

Why wouldn’t Utah just put a top number or overpay on guentzel or Reinhart and keep there assets. Utah more in need of a 8 to 10 million dollar dman to slot everyone else down, but they don’t grow on trees and don’t want to miss spending that money and term.

If geekie comes quick and legit that squad could be rather interesting if they upgrade with some draft pick trades and right ufas. Got an abundance of draft picks and cap to go get a little reckless, they don’t even have the roster spots for that many picks.

Sway for Hischier deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>The hardest part of reading these is the level of trying to over complicate the obvious trade. Ullmark to the Devils makes a ton of sense, but between Devils fans getting greedy trying to get Swayman and now this.
For the record, I did post a sarcastic deal involving these two previously. See them being on the same realm of not happening no matter how many times people try to mansplain why goalies are worth less when their goalies suck</div></div>
Not too downplay swaymans or any 1a/1b goalies abilities, it’s flat out a different era, where multiple teams currently in the playoffs would rather basically take a random one out of the scrap heap over investing any picks or cap into a number 1 goalie. With Vegas winning the cup and driving there 1b Brousoit to the airport in free agency, and just keep rolling, the value of tenders remains rather mid, eastern team probably could have had helly last summer before the extension, but rather luke warm interest, had him reupping for as much as he could get from Winnipeg, right wrong or otherwise. The market just isn’t there for an established captain to be moved for a tender. If I’m Boston and have to move him, possibly hope somebody bites for a mid first or something.

Sway for Hischier deal
You have to look at goalie ufa market to gauge the replacement or upgrade value of a goalie, possibly look something similar at the hishier replacement value. The margin between the 4/5 year older ufa that wants similiar money and term to hishier makes him rather more valuable than the difference between swayman and top ufa goalie, ufa goalie possibly a bandaid approach, but keeps your captain in the fold. Nj sinks or swims with Hughes and hishier.

Utah isn’t biting, too much money and term on Norris for such a gamble, Utah has a ton of picks and cash to spend, player assets running a distant third to sell, unless they want out, before the move.

Where’s Guenther/doan/possibly geekie, got to swing larger or just let the kids fill the roles, will be interesting who they swing for July 1, personally I go try and raid Carolina of skje/pesce/guentzel and possibly even Reinhart from Florida, with some cap maneuvers this could be a contender rather quick.

Utah grabs a couple dmen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DopeGM</b></div><div>Yeah great call. Make a splash with a player who will be really expensive but also guaranteed to play top of the lineup. Reinhart does make a lot of sense for sure. Guentzel I would guess is focused on getting paid fair but for a contender.
But Reinhart 6 or 7 x $11 or something massive and Florida unwilling to pay him Tkachuk money. You never know.</div></div>
I think this team has contender written on it, with 20 million in spending and move some draft picks that won’t have roster spots for anyway, quite a plethora of picks to go find whatever your looking for in trades, and top free agents have to visit Utah with that much cap room.

Knocking 4.3 million off the cap and add it to the budget of buying 20 plus million of ufas, and adding possibly this years Cooley to the mix isn’t interesting, geekie probably replaces him internally also. With that budget, they can go get Reinhart/guentzel, skje/pesce or basically whoever they want.

Utah takes that elc of savoie and runs, future with Cooley/savoie/geekie up the middle would be wild, go buy a winger or two, possibly a couple dman and away they go.
