They've both been extended, actually. Weird moves from Detroit lately tbh

(ARI/EDM) - Bjugstad, Dineen for Kesselring
Solid deal for both sides, Edmonton gets a quality bottom 6 player and Arizona gets a decent pick. Dineen for Kesselring is basically a wash.
Super disappointing move by the Coyotes to use their retention slot on Bjugstad instead of Ghost/Chych though. They could have done much better in those two deals.

Yup, good list. I'd take off Walman after his extension, and maybe add Vejmelka and Schmaltz from the Coyotes (they seem to be in full salary dump mode)

He hasn't been great this year, but there's really no risk in this. For a bottom 6 guy this is fine.

(NSH/TBL) - Jeannot for Foote, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
This is atrocious for Tampa. This honestly might be one of the worst deals in recent memory.
A draft pick in <em>every single one</em> of the first five rounds of the draft in the next 3 years, and a reclamation project in Cal Foote, for a guy with 14 points this year. It feels like a total desperation move by Brisebois to keep Toronto and Boston at bay. The issue being, he hasn't got back anyone close to the caliber of ROR, while giving up as much (or maybe more!) than the Leafs did.

(SJS/NJD) - Meier, Harrington, Ibragimov, Hatakka, Émond for Mukhamadullin, Okhotiuk, Johnsson, Zetterlund
This looks a lot better for the Sharks if it ends up being two 1sts. If the devils go out in the first round then they've undersold Meier for sure.

Oh interesting, good to know. I figured they might try to switch him out for a Roy or Walker but the Coyotes would definitely prefer a younger guy.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>I was suggesting to switch the 1st to 2014 and drop the 2nd. If you also want the 2nd, then I think you need to change Durzi to Grans.</div></div>

Yeah his production this year makes that deal a nice bargain. It seems Arizona prefers picks to prospects but I could definitely see him fetching a 3rd, maybe with a later pick or other throw in on top of it

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KSIxSKULLS</b></div><div>Coulda swore I checked Yesterday and it was negative. Might've misread it though.</div></div>
Just checked Moneypuck and they have him at -0.3, but still that's basically break even. Evolving-Wild gives him a 0.11 GSAX/60 which would scale out to about +2 overall.
He's also been substantially better than Petersen and Quick. Maybe a bit of an overpay but at 1.5 not a huge deal and considering he's been their best goalie this year it makes sense to keep him around.

He's got a positive GSAX, he hasn't been dominant but nowhere near terrible
Edit: -0.3 via Moneypuck, but that's still basically break even and a fair bit better than Petersen or Quick

(STL/NYR) - Tarasenko, Mikkola for Blais, Skinner, 1st, 4th
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>The Rangers got:
A 2nd that had some chance of turning into a 1st
A 3rd that had very little chance of turning into a 1st.
for Mats Zuccarello
The Blues got:
Sammy Blais
A prospect
A guaranteed 1st round pick in a deep draft
A 4th round pick with a very good chance of turning into a 3rd round pick
for Vladimir Tarasenko and Niko Mikkola
Blais and Mikkola cancel each other out.
So, it's a prospect, a guaranteed 1st and likely a 3rd for Tarasenko.
The more I look at these two trades, the more I feel this isn't fair for the Rangers.
The St. Louis Blues win the trade.</div></div>
The more I look at these two trades, the more I feel the <em>first one </em> wasn't fair for the Rangers.

(SJS/SEA) - Megna for 2023 cond. 4th
At first glance this looked like a pretty big overpay by Seattle (I thought Megna was a career AHLer) until I read he was playing on the top pair and putting up solid results.
With that in mind, Megna seems like a solid depth add and this deal oks to be decent for both sides.

It's interesting to me how much Kulikov seems to have turned it around since his days in Winnipeg where he was one of the worst defenseman in the league. Good deal for Anaheim to grab a solid bottom pair guy for nothing.
