Does Dvorak not usually play LW in Arizona? Can't recall ever hearing or seeing him play as a center past Junior. If that's the case and he's been playing LW for most of his career I wouldn't trade that much for him due to having Tkachuk Stutzle and Formenton on the LW.

The ask would be Pinto or White, minimum.
And might I ask why the kid that showed extreme potential as the Sens future 1C and was easily the best center by far on this year's team is being demoted to 3rd line leftwing? That doesn't make a damn bit of sense... 🤦♂️</div></div>
Question on Dumba...is he someone the wild will protect? I've seen a fair few projections for the expansion draft where he get's selected. Overall if I am a GM and know certain players won't be protected and there's a good chance Seattle would take them I'm taking whatever i can get instead of losing them for free. But at the same time I'd rather only lose one asset instead of 2.

As much as I absolutely hate Melnyk, what Dorion has done has been fairly admirable.</div></div>
move a pick along with them but gotta shed a couple guys. I agree Dorion has done an admirable job but IMO got lucky especially with that Karlsson trade there was so much not to like until the emergence of Norris and then the unexpected drafting position with the first rounder. But at some point especially in the near future the prospects that the team has acquired are going to have to turn into a higher pedigree player. A prospect is just that a prospect not all of em pan out so let that be someone elses issue and not this teams. Jarventie and Thompson had good years but they could pan out to be a 25 point forward and a bottom pairing RHD. I for one would trade them for a better player any day of the week even if i had to trade the 10th overall and second with it.

Signing a former 1st overall pick as a free agent and bringing in 2 top RHD to play with the younger guys? I'm pretty sure this is the way to go. with all of the draft picks and prospects you can only develop them for so long and you only have so many roster spots. capitalize on the chance to acquire under 30 RHD that are still in their primes now especially if you want to start a winning culture. why do you think teams like edmonton and buffalo now have to go into yet another rebuild? they got these top draft picks and didn't realize they didn't have complete teams. Ottawa's finish to the year and the confidence within the room should be reason to bring in that top notch player to continue a wining culture and keep the confidence in the room

Trade for Eichel Both Sides Win
Don't wanna sound ridiculous here but IMO this is a similar situation to Erik Karlsson leaving Ottawa. Ottawa and Buffalo are rebuilding in both scenarios, the player wants to go, and both had the same roster issues with owner and player relationship issues. Ottawa got Tierney, Balcers, Demelo, Norris, a first (wasn't projected at the time to even be top 20) and a second round pick initially with another one if he signed a contract extension. So that's 2 roster players, 2 prospects and at the time a first and second round pick which weren't supposed to be high selections. the offered trade in this thread is definitely along those lines but even at the time of the Karlsson trade IMO Ottawa was getting less then they could have got. My offer would probably be built around Thomson, Pinto or Greig and Brannstrom exactly how the author here has it. throw in that top 10 pick and I do believe you have the makings of something here

and you wouldn't do that? seems pretty reasonable to me Sens have a need for a top 4 stay at home defense its obvious. this year with the amount of movement that happens around the expansion draft and with a fair bit of cap space could be an opportune moment to acquire one of these guys while in their primes. there isnt a whole lot of experience on the backend and i personally am not wanting to see Gudbranson Hainsey type guys come onto the roster and not do much.

I'm of the point of view that if when Winnipeg moves Little they need a younger 2C. Tierney is a good shut down guy who can get 50-55 points with good linemates. Duclair stepped up and the way he's trending could be a consistent 25-30 goal getter. At minimum that's 40-45 goals between the two for laine who has yet to post more than 70 points (could have passed that this year) but he's not in a tier of marner, hall, Pastrnak type guys. A good comparable is Sam rhinehart which I think this deal is enough to secure him as well.

To move back 2-4 spots it wouldn't cost either of chabot or tkachuk. Ottawa has a bunch of seconds over the next two years I think it'll include a tierney / duclair 5th OA abramov and probably 2 seconds that's what I would offer. Chabot tkachuk Norris brannstrom batherson are no goes

My whole point has been have a current option that can play right away and start developing chemistry with chabot...I'm not sure how Ristolainen is a bad option by any means he's also not a offensive dynamo like was perceived earlier his career high is 45 points. Then trade the 33rd overall and another 2nd to move into the late 1st round to take Tyson Foerster. Lucas Reichel or John Jason Peterka are also great options.
However, if Jarvis, Holloway, Mercer, Gunler or Quinn is there with the Isles pick id consider them over Schneider</div></div>
I'd like the sens to use the picks on forwards as well but there's absolutely no need to draft 6 guys and sit back while you twiddle you're thumbs waiting for them to develop when you can watch chabot and a player like Ristolainen develop chemistry and tee off when the "years of unparalleled success" kick off
