Lol.
Columbus obviously accepts, but Marner and Toronto never let it get to that point. TML fans need to chill.

What is Toronto getting in value???
Also marner never waives for Columbus.
If that’s the cost to bring marner in. Then you do it lol idc if it doesn’t fit, you make it fit.

Jackets are not trading young players for a 33 y/o Brock Nelson on the last year of his contract. Silly.

Penguins off-season
Laine's best hockey has been played in Columbus up until he started dealing with whatever off-ice issues he has now. There is no reason to believe that he can't get back to where he was in 2021-22 and 22-23 with a clear head.
With how much love Boone has for Columbus, Pittsburgh is absolutely on his no-trade list if the Jackets would ever even begin to consider sending him to a division rival.
The package you're proposing doesn't even cover Boone's value to the Jackets let alone Laine 50% retained and taking back what equates to a pure cap dump to the Jackets in Reilly Smith.
There is no benefit for the Jackets here.

Better Than -37
The Jackets have a need for quality of assets rather than quantity of assets, so in the end that trade doesn't really appeal. If we were trying to get rid of Gaudreau and Laine (and there are a couple folks who do), that'd be a very nice return, but personally I don't think it's something we need to do.

Big no on Voronkov. Would have to be a solid NHLer coming back in the trade to even consider moving him.

Columbus isn't trading Jiricek and a top 5 pick for another winger. If Marner was a natural center, maybe they'd consider moving the pick

Marner finally got a point last night! Why are you so desperate to move him?
He says no, of course. So does Columbus, but it’s not like we matter here.

Turning every team into a playoff team
I wouldn't mind taking a risk on Laine, him and Barzal could go crazy but neither team does this for very different reasons. Columbus won't sell low on him and if Laine does get traded it will definitely be his last shot to prove himself

Voronkov isnt available, especially for that package. I would be down for just a trade around Elvis for VV though.

Boqvuist could be had for a mid round pick. Columbus doesn't have the roster space or cap space for Hronek and his next deal since they already committed to Severson and have a ton of their own RFA's to re-sign (and a disgruntled top prospect at that position who needs a roster spot next season). Hronek might be a better fit for the Ducks, who desperately need a top-4 RHD and have the cap space.

This is inherently self-contradictory, because Columbus's salary structure dictates a significant portion of how the market responds w/r/t Columbus assets. To wit: when GMs (the market) know you're drowning, they'll throw you anchors rather than lifelines.

If a PPG is meh then I’ll take a lot of meh. Jackets had Anderson for some of his best years and he was one of my favorite players ever. He was nowhere close to the player laine is when healthy and now he’s completely washed and is being paid a lot more

Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Montreal1st</b></div><div>Oh, so you can agree that Laine is extremely over-paid, useless outside of PP time and even though big, he has a FRACTION of Anderson's hits. Actual money owed at this point is less for Anderson, Anderson is a power forward and not a "scorer". Few teams have the cap to roll the dice on Laine at this point. I could care less if Montreal gets Laine, it is a huge gamble to get a guy paid 9 million and can only get 15 minutes of ice time in Columbus</div></div>
Anderson vs. Laine isn't even the crux of the argument. Jiricek has 1st-pair potential, and is the only RD in the system like that. If that pick is 6OA, the only RD with similar potential in this draft (Levshunov) is already gone. Honestly I don't think Columbus could trade him for 6OA straight up.
So the rest is Barron and Harris to dump Anderson. Anderson isn't waiving his NTC to go back to Columbus, which given how he left, is definitely one of his 5-8 teams depending on when the trade is proposed. Barron and Harris isn't enough to dump him, they're redundant and not an improvement on the plethora of D we already have.
And then you want us to add Laine, who aside from this year where he was taken out by headhunting and a slewfoot, has been near ppg for Columbus and is a previous 40-goal scorer. On a team with no cap crunch, no desire to move him, and a severe lack of star players.
I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but come on...this isn't it.

This website is a fairly good tool to look into players .
Here you can find out that laine is 3 years younger , has significantly better stats , and is built much larger than Anderson . And by significantly better stats …. Laine has double the ppg than Anderson. It’s not even remotely close

Dream scenario
Outside of drafting Celebrini, this is a pretty awful dream. CHI will never EVER consider Carter hart or Provorov, both would be controversies waiting to happen and already are controversial. All those big long term contracts have a decent chance of becoming problems, not to mention Reinhart would never take so little. That is WAYYY too much for Chychrun and Provorov. Where is Vlasic, a top 3 'Best defensive dman in the NHL' in what was essentially his rookie season?
