I actually think they can get a 2nd and a 4th or a prospect that may be expendable but has potential. But I’m with you, I think in 3-4 years we will be seeing him differently.

Now this is a winning team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>emoprettyboy</b></div><div>nope! I get the concept and it's not unreasonable on a surface level, but the Sens are simply not gonna move Pinto. right now he looks like a legit 2C that they can sign for dirt cheap, and the Sens centre depth isn't as good as it once was, since Norris is a question mark. Sens would be much better served just looking for other RHD options that might be a better fit anyways, and that they can get without giving up a core piece that they have no desire to move</div></div>
The only real trade I can see for both Leafs and sens is a package around liljegren and Chychrun. But this trade sens would want liljegren +, and such a trade weakens the Leafs even more on the right side making such a trade not worth it for the Leafs. I don't see any trades between both teams that would actually benefit both sides in the now.

Now this is a winning team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>emoprettyboy</b></div><div>I'm not trying to be obtuse when I say that I don't think there's a package that the Leafs could reasonably offer that the Sens would accept for Pinto. they have no reason or desire to move him, and there's nothing that the Leafs would be willing to give up that the Sens would be willing to accept. even something including like, Minten or Cowan, they're both "potential 2nd liners who could maybe play a top line role in a few years" guys, and Pinto is that now</div></div>
I agree I was commenting on why I think Pinto could be nice and what I would prefer if trading for pinto. That being said, sens are look at hockey trades and thus I don't know who we can trade that sens would like to replace pinto. We have our core set and no one of young and equal value for pinto to make it worth the sens. Sens won't want futures.

I think Pinto would cost a massive overpayment to acquire now after how well he has played for OTT this year and with the Norris injury.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>emoprettyboy</b></div><div>I get what you're going for, Sens swap out one of the surplus LD and get a (probably) higher value RHD in return, that surplus value then factors into the Sens going from Tkachuk to Boeser, and then the first does too. but the upgrade to Hronek is simply not worth the swap from Tkachuk to Boeser, since it's pretty impossible to know which version of him you're gonna get, and then all the other typical "team is built around Tkachuk" and whatnot for the Sens not to move him. obviously a 1st isn't *nothing*, but kinda a non-factor in a trade of this magnitude</div></div>
Yeah I can't see Brady being moved unless he asks to be, which as a Captain I imagine will only happen if things in the locker room really sour.

I don't think it's crazy either, the only issue is they need to forfeit a 1st between 24-26, so their essentially going to give up 2 firsts in the next three years and I don't think they can afford to do that.
Maybe if they can appeal that awful ruling and get it down to like a forfeited 2nd or something

Deadline 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>emoprettyboy</b></div><div>if the Sens do end up trading Chychrun, which is seeming less likely by the day, they definitely won't be retaining on him. if they do end up trading him AND retaining on him, they'll be looking for better than that. in a vacuum, a 1st, 2nd, good prospect, and roster player seems solid. then it's a late 1st, a 2nd, a way worse player that would ultimately have the same cap hit as what they're trading away, because in this case, they're retaining, and a prospect that isn't going to have any natural roster spot on the Sens</div></div>
He's not going anywhere. Chychrun directly addressed the rumours about him being unhappy in Ottawa, denying them outright. Brought up how he lives within 10 minutes of his sister and his Grandfather, and how the Ottawa Valley is like home to him and his family.
Fast forward to today, Staios spoke about how disappointed he was that his name was out there at all, talked about how he's an elite Dman and how there's always ways to make that cap work. Also when talking about Chychrun drawing interest around the league essentially said "yeah if I was another GM I'd want Chychrun too."
Connecting the dots, my guess is that some GMs saw Ottawa was struggling, called about Chychrun, and someone dropped hints to the media about how "Staios is taking calls on Chychrun". Then noted moron, Lalime's Martian on twitter made up a story about him being unhappy for clicks.

I would be shocked if Ottawa hadn't at least asked about Weegar, he's obviously the exact kind of guy they need. That said, I'm gonna wait til someone more credible than Pagnotta brings something to the table. Dude's had some real scoops, but he's wrong more than he's right. He takes the scatter shot approach to hockey rumours. Throw enough darts at the board you'll hit a few bullseyes

Next Year
Why exactly does Pinto need a fresh start?
Team likes him. Fans like him. Management has supported him throughout his dumb mistake. Heck, the owner even took a run at the NHL for shoving gambling ads everywhere then severely punishing a young player for gambling related activities.
Team isn't giving up a young, cost controlled, 2C/3C, right shot center for what you equated to as a late 1st. Especially since the Sens still have issues with center depth.
