I'd be cool trying nazar at C and just signing a UFA winger instead of JGP; ideally someone with a little more size to play on that line with Reichel and Nazar

I like the premise and I like both Lee and JGP for the Hawks lineup. Pieces going to the Island probably need to be massaged a bit.

I would probably only want to trade one of jgp or lee. Lee probably being the one going but not trading a 1st with one of them in the trade

Hawks need high picks more than they need 2nds. I'd do this Hawks trade above too! Just having a conversation and thinking out of the box.</div></div>

I would consider it but would probably want to keep one of them. Would also rather hold on to the 2024 1st because we haven’t had a first round pick since 2018 I believe

I would do a late 3rd for Turcotte if I was desperate at center for my farm system, but I can't see buying much more because he was a high pick....you buy the player they are now, not what a team thought they'd be. If LAK didn't develop him right, it shouldn't be up to another team to pay for the opportunity to do what they couldn't.

Hawks could use a future 2C but turcotte hasn't shown he's capable of being that guy. He's also pretty small and the hawks desperately need some more size in their forward group. If this is the price of turcotte the hawks will look elsewhere.

Well done! Solid lineup. Like the UFA group. Reichel probably gets more. Don't see DeBrusk getting a 5 year deal. Still don't think this team sniffs the playoffs but they are better for sure.

need more talent
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>It feels like were at the point where there was kinda an agreed upon price IF Lee was willing to waive to CHI. <em>(I think he would considering his wife's from here, they met at Notre Dame, etc... He'd be the 4th player off the top of my head that made this exact move.)</em> But the value keeps on slipping the more this gets discussed. Example...hey the previous post had an agreed upon (2) 2nds...I'll make it a 2nd and a 3rd....the next post will be a 2nd and a 4th...the next a 2nd and a 5th just to see what fans are willing to giving.
I'm open to bringing on Anders Lee. I think his contract term and his veteran leadership are (2) things that line up with the Hawks well. As far as the return...it'll be whatever it is.</div></div>
Yeah. That's why I argue so heavily for more in these types of trades all the time, because if you let up, the other side will continue pushing the price further down. Sellers want pushovers. Isles fans should expect to pay a 1st plus to move a contract that large and with that much term. If they actually end up paying less, then they should be ecstatic about it.

What i would offer to Patrick Kane
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>What are your thoughts on CHI signing Kaner back? It's not like DET are cup contenders with in 2 years...so the whole winning a cup argument holds the same for both these teams. It's now a discussion on contract.</div></div>
For 1-2 years, sure. He'd be an upgrade over what was put on the ice this past season but speaking for myself, I've moved on from that era. I liked Davidson wanting a clean break from the previous era and what he was saying about letting new team leaders grow organically, rather than having Toews/Kane there forever.

Only retain to get package somewhat where I think it will end up

Not a chance any one of the other teams accept those proposals.
Tampa and Winnipeg are not giving up 1st round picks even with retention for one season of your aging players.
Wahlstrom and a 3rd is no where close to enough for taking on two seasons of 33 year old Lee and his diminishing value and $7m cap hit… that transaction starts with a 1st round pick going to Chicago along with him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>From the Hawks point of view. I think a 2nd is sufficient, but would take the 4th if you're offering.</div></div>
I am expecting hard ball negotiations due to the Canucks cap situation. Chicago squeezed a 2nd from the Canucks for Dickinson who made $2M less than Mikheyev. Yes, Mikheyev is the better player but cap space is valuable. The extra 4th should make up for the difference. Either that, or they go to Anaheim or San Jose with the same offer, if Chicago gets too greedy. But they have a good relationship with that Blackhawks front office, so I expect a deal to get done

They definitely will have their cap challenge but as a major contender, others will be sacrificed first (i.e. Knight) in order to keep core pieces like Reinhart and Montour in the fold.
