Holloway is lining up next to Drai tonight
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Super pumped to see Holloway and Draisaitl getting together - I posted a projected opening night roster with them together just this morning. I think that's where he belongs, personally. If they were to add Puljujarvi to the Draisaitl line, that makes the 3rd line Nugent-Hopkins, Hyman and McLeod, which is absurdly good. Who needs a 4th line when you can roll 3 amazing lines all game?</div></div>
I've been saying to put hyman and nuge together at 5v5. Hyman and nuge have insane chemistry on the pk. Not to mention those three are all very good defensively, so you could easily match them up against a top line of another team, meaning one of Draisaitl or Mcdavid are playing against bottom sixers. Unfortunately it's easier to rationalize playing Hyman in the top 6 than running three lines, which is why I don't think it has been tried yet.

LETS GO
Perfect lines would be:
Kane-Mcdavid-Yamo
Holloway-Drai-Hyman
Mcleod-Nuge-JP
Janmark-Ryan-Foegele

Keith Retirement bonus
Totally forgot about this, I remember people speculating/hoping that this was the reason edmonton traded for him. Don't think he actually retires, but I hope so, would make Kane coming back way more viable.

remember when Oilers fans were trading yamamoto for crouse because he was in a bit of a slump? Puljujarvi will bounce back, don't trade him

Looking at them
Somewhat agree with kane, he is playing well and finishing a lot of chances but I think a lot of them come from playing with mcdavid and draisaitl so idk how sustainable it is

Predicting starting lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>This is probably the setup for most of the series against the Kings. The Oilers function so much better as an 11F/7D squad as it really lessens the load on their average-at-best blueline corps.
Honestly, even if Nurse is okay-ish to go for Game 1, I wouldn't rush him in to the fold. I Probably wouldn't ice him until they've lost one or two: he'll be leaned on heavily in any subsequent series so getting him as much rest as possible now is crucial. Oilers in 5 so when that happens, mileage may vary,</div></div>
Russell's been really good recently so 7D when nurse comes back is a strong option

Barrie

He's simply not a good fit.</div></div>
I agree, he would only be a potential fit if petry is moved, no shot Barrie and Petry both play for Montreal next season.

Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Good RHD's have more value than complimentary wingers IMO.</div></div>
Demelo is 28, at about the age where players start to regress heavily. Yamamoto is only 23 and already a solid top 6 forward.
Not to mention Demelo is a UFA in 2 years, while Yamamoto is an RFA and could be kept around long term.
Not saying demelo is bad, he's probably slightly better than yamamoto right now, but in terms of trade value and longevity it's not that close

Vancouver Intern
I think Holloway takes a jump next year, and the need for Pearson would be less. Combined with Mcleod looking really good this year, I don't think it would be worthwile to give up broberg for pearson (even though your saying there's another piece, I don't think this deal is considered)

Somewhat Realistic but hopeful for CHI Rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oliver_wahlstrom</b></div><div>I think it all depends how he does in the playoffs but he is only on a 41 point pace. Playing with Drai, that is disappointing IMO. idk tho because I dont watch most of your games
I could also see that his value is down so you dont want to sell low</div></div>
His production at the start of the season wasn't great, but he was still creating chances. He's looked really good in this second half, and I think he should be an important piece moving forward. He's also younger than strome, so his ceiling is higher imo.

Creative LW
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joblow</b></div><div>Not so sure about that, Savard is cheaper, a much better defender and with Bouchard that have taken the lead offensively Edmonton could benefits to have a solid shutdown defenseman. Barrie have elite offensive upside but defensively he doesn’t show up very often. In a very tight cap era 1.1 millions can be huge. But that being said, it doesn’t fix your goaltending problem. That the biggest issue Holland will have this offseason.</div></div>
I agree, I don't hate this trade but I feel like a barrie trade should clear more cap. Maybe for a guy like Hakanpaa or even just for picks to sign someone in FA.
