Only players currently in Sabres system
I'm totally with you! I can't wait either. To me the 4th line is the most interesting. Peterka gains more muscle and mass, it'll be interesting to see if his attitude evolves. Krebs wouldn't hesitate to take on Chara if he were still playing. The team's other three lines are set to become even faster and more skilled, which is exciting. And, of course, it's natural for rookies to need some time to improve their defense – that's just part of the learning curve.

Next Season Ideas
Olofsson is only good on the Powerplay. Sabres needs are on defense.. we have 3 good winger/centers in the AHL that wont have a spot on the team next year. A Defensive prospect would work.

As soon as you said 'dumpster fire,' you lost all credibility. It's true that the Sabres have been really bad for the last 12 years, and it seems like you don't watch them or keep up with their progress. However, over the last several years, the GM, coach, and players have all shown a strong desire to be where they are, and they believe that the team is on the right path. In fact, half of the team even took a break together after the season.. What other organization has players that do that. Especially teams that are not in the playoffs. We're just a few players short and a couple of years of experience away from being successful in the playoffs. It's not fair to call them 'dumpster organizations.'

The reasons buffalo shouldn't make this trade: Toffoli has 1 year remaining on his contract. He averages 25 goals 25 assists. This year was not his norm. If you drop the 1st round pick then maybe...

Sabres
I think it's a good idea to keep Andersen on board as a coach for the young players, although it's uncertain if he'd be open to returning for another year. As for retaining all three players, Girgen/Jost/Okposo, it's worth considering. Girgen and Jost could be valuable as scratch players or as line mates for youngsters like Quinn and Peterka. While Okposo may have lost some speed, he still offers valuable leadership experience, which Tuch could potentially replace. It might be beneficial to give promising young players like Rousek or Kulich an opportunity to develop their skills in the NHL. With that said. I would be okay with Okposo not returning and keeping Girgen and Jost. DeMelo looks like a solid D. I would like to see another D pickup for insurance but looks good.

Better team Maybe a playoff team
I just thought it would be cool to have the brothers play together. Best 3rd line in hockey. From a stats perspective the Olofsson + 2nd pick is overpay for Foligno. Foligno will be lucky to have the same numbers next year. The A on his sweater and his physical game is what sets him apart from Olofsson. The wild really dont have anyone else like Foligno so I get that they dont want to trade him.

The only thing I might change is to get skinner with Krebs. Krebs is suppose to excel in his ability to setup his line. I do like Krebs with Quinn.

Sabres are going to wait on Eichel.. what is the rush.. let him get health and then trade him. None of the trades make any sense until he is healthy.

He is not 100% of the current problem(s). If we dumped Eichel instead of ROR then I am positive the sabres wouldn't be picking first this year. It would be ROR team not some kid who gives up on plays and only hits when he is mad. I hope he goes to NY, you will see for yourself what a selfish player he is.
Here is the ROR eichel fire: https://buffalohockeycentral.com/2018/02/01/is-there-beef-between-ror-and-eichel/

Landeskog is playing with Cozens. The line pairing was more for Cozens and not as a true line 2 or line 1.

Eichel has no say in the matter. Reinhart just has to ride out the year and then he can go anywhere. I never did understand why a team is required to trade a player under contract. My post here is just that, f... you to the players, The sabres own the rights to these players, plain and simple. You want to play and get paid then get on the roster and play. I would have never traded ROR.

The only way we get eichel's true value is we let him get the surgery and if he is okay, then we get what we want. Otherwise no team is going to touch him for what the sabres want for him.

Dahlin and Makar would make a awesome backend for years to come. I would have to agree with everything said about the Sabres. It is a shame that this team is so poorly run.

Not sure how Colorado signs all their guys. Even if they match, they have Saad, Landeskog, Grubauer, and Makar. They wont be able to sign them all. I know the numbers are on the low side but even if the sabres bump up the salary by 1 or 2 million, it will be hard for Colorado to match.

Shattenkirk at 7 for 7 is a huge gamble. I think he will go for less.
Stone is a solid 3rd line D. if Nylander is a no go than you can always bring up Bailey who costs about the same.
