<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JuanDamienNebraska</b></div><div>He’s going on 37. The man needs real wingers at this point in the game if we want to win. This isn’t 5 or more years ago. He deserves real wingers. Wingers that don’t bury their head and hack at the puck. Wingers that can actually do something with it when Sid makes an outstanding play to feed them. The only aspect of Sid’s game that has declined is his wheels, and at the same time, the game has gotten way faster. Sid’s brain has kept him amongst the top in the league at his age. He’s not carrying it through guys like he once did, he’s making precise passes and decisions to spring offense in open space. Again, he needs guys that can actually capitalize on his play style, not guys that bury their head and hack at the puck.

Puljujarvi isn’t that guy. Obviously Sid can salvage more offensive production from Puljujarvi than Lars Eller can, just like he did with Dom Simon, but the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. You’re missing the point. This isn’t make a wish, or build a winger.

Why make 36 year old Sid suffer through frustrating wing play when he’s been carrying us all year to begin with? He deserves better, and if we expect to win, he needs better. That’s not an indictment on him, just reality at this point.</div></div>

I never said he didn't deserve lousy wingers, just stating that he's had worse and turned them into good players. Sid has a certain style he wants from his wingers and doesn't really care what their pedigree is. if you play the style he wants, he'll turn you into something useful. Just because he's 36 now, doesn't mean he can't or won't do it. Yes, he doesn't deserve it, but we really don't have anyone on the team that he deserves to play with. Jake is the closest, but even he's not really the guy that Sid needs. At this stage in his career, he needs someone like a Kevin Stevens or Rich Tocchett in their primes, someone similar to Kunitz, but with more skill.
