would you do it for that sweet cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jdfitz77</b></div><div>Why on earth would Buffalo do that?!?!
Fleury is turning 36 & has been clearly declining for a couple years now
Even if Vegas held half his salary,
I’d STILL make them give us a 1st or some kind of sweetener</div></div>
I am not a Vegas or Buffalo fan so I have no horse in the race but I think this could make sense for Buffalo.
Even if Fleury has been declining, they still are getting a clear upgrade in a position of weakness. On top of that, they are getting a young stud in Hague who hopefully will develop into their second pair LHD behind Dahlin.
Having said all that, Yes the trade looks fair in a vacuum but Vegas should definitely add a high (1st or 2nd) pick into the package as its the price of gaining all that cap space.

I do think rangers are going to try and do a push soon as don't need much more to be contenders.</div></div>
I agree regarding Lundqvist. Rangers might trade Georgiev if a team sees him as their number 1 goalie of the future and offers a lot in trade. Then Lundqvist become the backup for probably as long as he feels like being in the league.
As for the draft I could see Gorton trying to move to the top of the draft using as you suggested Georgiev, their two 1st round picks, and also Nils Lundkvist.

78 500 000 cap plus 1 free buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bluejackets2000</b></div><div>I would foresee the final result being a flat cap, no buyouts, and extending the current contract by 1 year to buy time to renegotiate the next contract in light of the lost season.
This will also bring them right up to the Seattle expansion draft, which will serve as a pseudo buyout in that each time will lose a fairly good player under the same terms that Vegas got to work with.
you will hear from owners/league about how much money was lost....but this is a revenue figure. At the end of the day, the league lost revenue but still made money, and is still flush with cash.
Only time will tell based on how quickly things can return to some normalcy later this year.</div></div>
Just a note that so many are confused by. The LEAGUE does not make or lose money. The league is an administrator rules that the owners/NHLPA and the parties have agreed upon It's the 31 individual owners that make or lose money. The total league revenues might have been expected to be 5 billion this season...No reason to think that total revenues this is now just 4 billion.

78 500 000 cap plus 1 free buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>highly doubt it would drop this signifiicantly. if it drops it's 80 at least, and more likely stay flat.
Also, you can't resign the player as part of a compliance buyout, so Kyle would have to find a home somewhere else.</div></div>
The NHL was projecting an 86m cap for next year. They lost 20% revenue with cancelled regular season games, plus the lucrative post season games...assuming the total season is cancelled. That's at least a 20% reduction from 86m.. But no reason to think the season is going to start on time next season. And for sure people aren't going to have as much discretionary income to buy tickets to games, the related NHL products or the desire to travel to games. The whole cap structure is going to have to be redone with the NHLPA. Even current contracts are going to be reduced (as will voted on by the NHLPA).

(BUF/NJD) - Conditional 2021 5th round pick for Simmonds
The 3% chance that the 5th round pick ever plays an NHL game is well worth the cost of acquisition. For a team that at least needs some sort of hope and life, why not make a low risk add? Why not give the fans something positive to talk about? Maybe he rediscovers his old form and plays like a solid top six forward. Maybe he plays as a meh third liner. Who the hell knows? This is a worthwhile move for them. We're one Jack-Eichel-goes-Jesus-Christ stretch towards talking about Buffalo sneaking in the playoffs. If Simmonds can help that out in any way, it's a good trade.

Yes Nashville wants to get rid of Turris behind that 6 million dollar cap hit but he has been playing much better under Hynes than Lavi and they aren't gonna give up 3 picks and Turris for Skinner.

Buffalo still has to add to that trade. Erod has been awful outside of that game last week. Galchenyuk has much higher bounceback potential.
I dont think anyone wants Hutton at this point. Maybe NJ.</div></div>
Leafs should take that trade 100% Bracco might as well be a healthy scratch. With the numbers he puts up in minors yet he still doesn't get a call up even when any of Marner, Nylander or Kapanen get injured. Hes still waiver exempt and its not like he qualifes for an ELC slide.
Yes Miller has been a healthy scratch but the team also has rhe highest RD depth in the league. Miller alsi has term on his contract which is an issue in Toronto, none of their defense do.

(BUF/CGY) - 2020 4th round pick (SJS) for Frolík
This trade frees up cap space for Calgary and moves a surplus defenseman for Buffalo in exchange for a useful forward. Meanwhile, Montreal gets a little depth in their softest area. In my opinion, an extremely rare example of a three-way trade that is good for all three teams.

(NJD/ARI) - Hall, Speers for Bahl, Merkley, Schnarr, 1sr round pick, conditional 3rd round pick
People need to read into these trades before they go voting because the amount of people who think Arizona Won this trade is way too many. Keep in mind that AZ is a good solid team right now and they just got better with Hall in the short term. The Coyotes are going to make the playoffs and I think they will win their first round match up so right there the NJ Devils are getting a hard 1st Round pick in a very deep draft (2020) and they get a (soon to be) 2nd Round pick in another deep draft in 2021. In addition, NJ gets the 3rd and 4th rated Prospects from AZ right now and Kevin Bahl is a STUD and a big one at that. Merkley is an NHL caliber player and will make the NJ team going forward. Getting basically 4 young players in this deal is terrific for NJ for a player who they weren't able to sign is very good. I think the Coyotes will TRY VERY HARD to sign Taylor Hall longterm if he does good in the first month. Once Marian Hossa and Mike Ribiero's contracts come off their books they will have the Cap to lock him in as one of their top forwards. I think it's a win win for both teams right now but overall I think IF NJ drafts well then they win longterm. If Hall was more consistent I'd be saying otherwise.

Goalie fix
Well Detroit obviously declines, so the Tampa trade ceases to exist (and they would have declined anyways).
now that that is dealt with, lets break down the LA trade:
Mac Hollowell is the only remote piece of value going to LA for a goalie who put up a 9.28 SV% across 31 games on arguably the worst team in the league last year, is locked in for 3 years (this year included) and will doesn't harm Toronto's cap situations this year at all
Try: Bracco + a 2nd + a solid B prospect

I never expected the Sabres to be a playoff team this year. The start was obviously above their grade level. It is impossible to disagree that there are several deficiencies, I am only making the point that if the team can correct the PK and PP, with the current roster they could get back to winning again.
I did not keep a record but in nearly every game of this 10 game slide, I thought the Sabres had the better of the play in the first period then went into the dressing room on the short end of the score.
I should have added to my rant, stop passing when you have an off man rush shoot the puck.

You make a good point, but I think the Sabres are on the right track. If Bales can do his magic with Ullmark and Hutton, Vesey and Johansson can deliver, the defense actually shows improvement, and Kruger can motivate the team 90 pts is conceivable or even more. I do not see a playoff next year, if it is not close (90 pts minimum) then give up, trade everyone and reset, because this a team of losers.</div></div>
