Next Year No Krug
I don't understand how you figure Grizz will get more then Mac or Carlo. Better off giving Krug $8m and giving Kuhlman away. I'd let Kuhlman walk before giving him $2m. I don't see anything there but speed.
Coyle a slight overpay, but seeing what Hayes got from Philly, he'll probably get something close. Bruins need a center of his age to transition, he is a must.
Can't bring a 4th line guy like Wagner back for close to $2m.
Don't see any reason to do that Backes trade. Just buy him out if necessary. He still seems to be a big part of the leadership off the ice.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>Nordstrom Grizz and Clifton don’t make the team. Grizz for cap purposes. Ryan Graves would be 7th D man. Again for cap purposes.
Leaving Compher out is rough. But if you are trying to be cap compliant choices have to be made.
The last 2 forwards i’d probably give to a pair of prospects on their ELC.</div></div>
Thought Grizz has looked really good lately, similar from what I've seen fro Girard, good skating, nice outlet passess, still not much offense.
Don't see enough Avs games to know much about Graves, appears to be a big meat stick like K. Miller. Big body, physical, again not much offense, nice compliment to a puck moving partner. I could see a spot for that.
I like the two extra D and one extra forward plan. Feel like you can play a better matchup game and keep them fresh. D just seem to get injured more.
Noticed Compher had been playing third line before the Rantanen injury so left him off. You're right, I am attempting to be compliant and tough decision's need to be made.
Avs depth forwards all seem to be over-priced compared to the Bruins coupled with my bias leads to Nordstrom and Wagner being included. Certainly open to changing that line.

You actually believe he'd rather ride the bus in Providence then play in the NHL? Why would he choose that option?

You are too tight to the cap. No accumulated room for a deadline deal and bonus money will be carried over to next season causing more issues.

Moving Backes
He might not waive. He's a pretty logical guy and may have figured out his cup aspirations are over because he's just not good enough to play the required games to get his name on the trophy. I like Backes, he can still provide something to a rebuilding team. Ottawa is one of the few that need to save money and he can provide some valuable veteran leadership.

Agreed. He was a good fit with Coyle. Donny will have to find a new MOJO at the deadline again. Isn't much there for Ufa next summer though.

Kreids to Bahston
Not sure how I feel about the trade with Boston. I like Kreider for the most part and Pionk is a RD which is always in demand. It would be nice to move the Backes contract, Miller is a good soldier and would be missed, Axelsson a young former 1st round RD, JFK decent bottom six center potential.
My biggest dilemma is why do the NYR do this? I think Boston would even with the potential cap problems and positional needs.

If the bruins had drafted correctly
They also hit on Pastrnak, McAvoy and Carlo instead of taking Schebak, Fabbro and Meloche. I don't particularly enjoy these hindsight teams. I liked Barzal and thought he was better then anyone on team Canada that year not named McDavid. Boston didn't believe his body would hold up in the NHL. Connor sabotaged his interview with Boston because he didn't want to play there. Zboril was ranked higher then Chabot in almost every list. Bruins picked Senyshyn knowing he'd be a project. Debrusk they loved.
The thing most people ignore or don't know is that they had no intention of using all three picks. They wanted to move up and take Hanifin. Bottom fell out of the deal and now we wait to see the final results.

I would guess Heinen gets between $2.5-3.5, McAvoy $7+ and Acciari $1.5-2 from someone, essentially pricing himself out of Boston.

You need to add three more skaters to fill the roster which will put you well over the cap even if it goes up to $85M because of expansion money.

Big offseason for Sweeney
Ferland is yet another left shot winger which Boston has many of and although I like the physical element he brings he has concussion issues. Bruins would be better off spending that cap money elsewhere.
