Will Leafs Match
No chance in hell the Leafs part with Liljegren to dump Mrazek. He's also not eligible for an offer sheet (less than 80 career games played)

How Quickly Do They Say No
Sandin's on the wrong side, and Houser is not remotely close to an NHL-calibre backup. With Campbell's injury history we need a way better backup

We shouldn't have to include a prospect to dump Holl, especially to ARI with all their cap space. Move him for a 3rd or 4th

Can't see CHI moving DeBrincat or TOR moving Sandin. Would make more sense for them to move Muzzin.

Husso will get more than that and the two young dmen will get less, judging from the first couple of contracts Dermott got after his ELC.

Leafs summer of 2022
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>So myers is getting written off but muzzin isnt? Muzzin is a top pairing defender who is paid well within the range of top pairing guys and he's going to need a paltry return but a 25 year old who has never been anything morw than promising is worth his bad contract?</div></div>
What makes you think Muzzin is a top pair defender? He hasn't been that since he came to Toronto. He's also coming off multiple concussions in a short period of time and a poor season, other than the playoffs. If you're moving out an older guy with that many question marks who makes $5.625 mil, it's going to require either some money coming back or retention.

This is his one chance to get a big payday and he's not going to knuckle under for any team.</div></div>
Bahaha, I'd be shocked if Campbell gets more than 5 mil. Besides, guys who re-sign with their current team usually get less than they'd get on the open market. Campbell is a loyal guy who I don't see wanting to leave.

Another example of the "what have you done for me lately" hockey world completely writing off a young player after one bad year who has otherwise been a promising prospect for years.
Muzzin will have to be moved either this year or next and at that salary we aren't getting much of a return.

Anyway, heck no from a Canes perspective</div></div>
It's because one is a one-year deal and the other is two years. Carolina is taking the bigger contract for this year but Seattle is taking on an extra year with Gardiner. So it makes total sense

Leafs blow it up for more balance
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mauston_atthews</b></div><div>Oh believe me I don’t like it either, who would like a team spending $40M on four guys that choke all the time? However, doing this idea is even worse. Almost every leafs acgm i see that has “blow it up” as the title is a couple of bad trades that make no sense. Also, blowing it up isn’t the right thing to do with this team, trading marner is as far as I’d go, but I wouldn’t even do that. They’re 24 (Matthews marner and nylander). I’d rather have some of a shot at winning something than no shot, which is what you’d get blowing it up.</div></div>
I'm not saying they should blow it up. Just wanted to see what it might look like. Though Marner does need to go for the sake of the rest of the roster.

In normal times yes. With a COVID flat cap we have seen lots of guys sign for less than they would otherwise get. Teams only have so much money to go around.
As for Hyman, I think the longer his term the lower they can get him. Might need to go to 6 years to get him for that though.
