Next Year
The 2023 1st is enough for Toews at the deadline this season. The 2 prospects aren't anything special. Just AHL depth for either team. And I think Tazer would definitely re-sign in Winnipeg for a discount

Boston eying CDH
I actually think that makes perfect sense. BOS doesn't really have the pieces to seriously go after either Lindholm or Church. BOS doesn't usually trade for the splashy guy either. Hall had all the cards which is why that return was so low. He's an outlier in terms of return, but go look at BOS history at the TDL. Marcus Johansson, Tommy Wingels, Stafford, Stempniak, John Michael Lisles...they just don't make the splashy move. They do under the radar acquisitions and definitely won't give up a 1st for anyone.

The best goalie prospect in the entire world and a first round pick aren’t enough?? If anything the wild say no.

Small fyi, Murphy already has an extension in place he's the Hawks would be eating 5 years of cap. He isn't the problem in CHI at all. You'd need to add a ton more going to CHI.

just trying to have a friendly discussion here dude, not sure why you're acting so pissy. The wirtz family should sell the team, the reality of the situation just is that they won't.
Cleaning out the entire FO and gutting the roster is a fresh start in my mind and it's the best we're going to get. If you don't agree then there's not much I can do

Jones and Lindholm
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GirouxFanclub</b></div><div>^^^^ above is why I don't think it makes much sense for Chicago</div></div>
We need a vet D man entering his prime on the left side, matching Murphy anchoring on the right...both defensive D men. For that reason, I'd go hard at Lindholm and pass on Jones. Saad over Hyman at that price. That leaves another $5M on the table for next year over this AGM for total cap space of roughly $12M which is pretty much where the Hawks need to be for next year.
Kubalik - Toews - Saad
Cat - Dach - Kane
Hagel - Suter - Hino
Entwistle/Borgstrom - Kampf - Carps
Lindholm - BoQ
Keith - Murphy
Kalynuk - Mitchell

Jones and Lindholm
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GirouxFanclub</b></div><div>I'm just not sure if it's worth it to sell some of your future for a d-man that will have his prime basically wasted in the middle of a rebuild if that makes sense. Ik where you are coming from tho bc its harder for younger players to develop if they are not playing with anybody good to make it easier for them.</div></div>
Yeah, I don't think Lindholm's prime will be wasted. He turned 27 in January and so you'd look at next season as entering his prime likely and you've got 3 years of it. I personally think the Hawks are playoff team next season if indeed we did what I suggest or close to it. I think then we are looking at 2 to 3 years to be competitive, not cup winning but more then a first round exit and that is also the time where the cap should increase due to revenues returning to normal with the addition of Seattle. Kane shows no signs of slowing down, Cat is elite, Kubalik is really good in his 2nd season and not yet in his prime, Suter looked great as a rookie, everything we are hearing about Reichel is this kid is a top 6 player in another couple years, Hagel and Hinostroza both impressed in Coach C's system. To me the wild cards are Dach and BoQ. If they can take the next step next season and the season after, this team will be in pretty good shape.

Ahhh best part is...Kane and Toews got their big contracts then went and won another championship. So they lived up to their contract you ask me. If you’re gonna ride with them while they’re winners you gotta ride with them through the fall from grace. I’ll always be thankful for witnessing a Chicago hockey dynasty in my early 20s.

Okay lets try Montour
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafs_Storm</b></div><div>Montour is a guy Kypreos and some media tried throwing in for every Nylander tried before they moved over to Manson when Montour was flipped to Buffalo. The issue is he did not do well in Buffalo, and their fans want him traded, that's why he's in every trade package. Either Friedman or Johnston (can't remember which one) mentioned that it seems like management is trying to move montour, that he likely won't be back next season.
Could the leafs use him, with our RD, sure it's possible, but I'd rather not take a 4M gamble on a player who has not seemed effective.
Connor Murphy is not a good defensemen. I see him lumped into so many trades, and the reason he's available too is because he is bad. He had a really good major junior career, and people still have hype for him because of it, but he is the opposite of what we need. He's a poor man's tyson barrie. He is a worst-case scenario acquisition if Rielly and Sandin got hurt kind of player.
I don't understand the obsession with Carter Rowney on here either, a 4C for a guy who (specifically when with Muzzin) made a formidable shutdown pair. I'm fine with Rowney, but he's a guy you trade like Calle Rosen and a 5th for, not Holl.
Otherwise, i'm fine with Boyle.Seems fair for Dermott and Mikheyev, although Nylander would not be 3RW, he's either top 6 or playing C.</div></div>
I see so many Nylander and Marner trades, so it must mean they are terrible! That is the only reason why they would be in so many trades on this site!

Blackhawks Offseason
The rumor is JC is getting fired if we lose to the oilers. If we win, who really knows. But Stan isn’t going anywhere. Danny wirtz even said so last week. So whether we like it or not we’re stuck with Stan. However, I still hope JC gets fired no matter what. There’s logical way someone can tell me this series anything to do with his coaching. As it stands, the hawks are only here because of a worldwide tragedy. Just get rid of JC and hire a real NHL coach.

Upgrades on both ends
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HatterTParty</b></div><div>Definitely agree on askarov. I wouldn’t hate having him for the future, but there’s too many good players to take before him. As for lundell, you hit it on the head, a lot depends on draft positions and where the others are picked. I have some hope that the hawks could maybe move up a spot or two and then at least one of holtz or Raymond may be there, but if we are number 9 and lundell is the one left after all the better players, yea, go for it. Do I think he and Bowman’s baby boy are gonna bring a cup to Chicago in the next 10-15 years? Absolutely not. They will be the best we can get though. They will hopefully make us competitive, but there’s a lot more to fix beyond them obviously.</div></div>
LOL you are going to lose your marbles if we have Lundell and Dach as the future centers!!! :cheers

The Maatta option is a last resort option. He should have trade value, but let's pretend for a second he didn't (which is incorrect) he has a VERY team friendly buyout that can save $3.5M a year.

They're probably going to buyout Maatta and Smith. A trade that's been posted frequently on here is Strome for Brodin straight up, and I think that would be a major help in both the short term and long term. Next year will probably be another down year, hopefully they can get another top 10 pick and then gear up to make the playoffs in 2022.
