Hum, is this real? Of course Montreal accept but that protection must translate to 2025 (top 5) if the pick is in top 10

Dream offseason
Tom Wilson would be an insane pickup for the Canes. Idk if it would work but I would be interested to see if Wilson KK and Svech could play well together 3 big bodies who have some skill I think they would be a huge problem come playoff time

That is a massive and unnecessary overpayment for Bertuzzi. Likely won’t take that much for Staal, and probably Korpisalo as well. Why even make the Kubalik trade when he just ends up getting scratched when at least 1 of Svech or Patches gets activated, and who is the next forward to be scratched? Unless someone becomes a better net front than Noesen, he isn’t getting scratched. Puljujarvi is unlikely to get scratched if he stays on the Staal line, since it would be Rod’s go to line, unless Rod moves Turbo to the 3RW spot. And which of Bertuzzi, Svech, or Patches gets dumped onto the 4th line? It’s it’s going to be Bertuzzi, might as well save cap space and just go for Olofsson, since he could be had for half retained for a 2nd, give or take. Don’t mind the Soucy signing, but Ghost could probably be had at that same cap hit, might as well keep Ghost with his chemistry with Chatfield.

Would you be willing to sub out Drury with Gunler or Trikozov?
Sharks have a lot of talented undersized forwards in their system, so it would be nice to get someone a little bigger and a tad younger. You could also downgrade the 2024 second to a 2024 3rd as well if that makes it happen

Imagine these lines
I think you’re sleeping on KK. I would swap KK and necass roles here but other than that, I would have nearly the same team. Knowing rod, the only players that will consistently play in the same role on the forwards are Aho as 1C, and staal and fast playing together as shut down players. Hate to say it but we will probably see martinook playing on the first line at some point this season because whenever rod jumbles up the lines, it always seems like martinook is playing with either aho or svech.

Likely pretty close to what will actually transpire.
I see Bear and Coghlan in competition for the 3RD spot, the loser is the 7D. Chatfield and LaJoie sent to Chicago and a vet LD signed for league min to play with Bear/Coghlan.

If they went after Miller (which is highly unlikely) I agree with you. But KK has also proven that he’s much better at C than wing so that hurts his development. I get the window to win is now but I also don’t want to stunt KK if the team is committed to him long term which they’ve shown they are, especially when Miller would be a one year play. I’m also much more bullish on KK for this season than most are so I’ll admit I may have a rosy colored disposition here.

No but I would trade puljujarvi for a 2nd and a 3rd. I would not trade necas for a second and a third because he is the better player with more upside and has produced at the NHL level before. Puljujarvi has not and on a team with mcdavid and drai you should have inflated offensive metrics. Please stop making bs comparisons

Yeah, I was thinking
Kulikov(1.125m retained) + MIN 6th to CAR
Bear RFA rights to MIN
MIN 5th to 3rd team to retain 1.125m on Kulikov
The 5th and 6th could probably be flipped, I don’t know what the asking price to retain that 1.125m would be. Wouldn’t mind sending a lesser piece to either team instead of the picks, but I don’t feel like speculating on who that would be.

what is the asking price for Bear? If the Wild are able to move Dumba, I wouldn't mind going after Bear as a cheaper 2nd or 3rd line RD. Kulikov + what for Bear? (assuming the Wild pay a 3rd team to retain half on Kulikov)

Malkin and letang not actually happening but if
I mean there r a lot of holes here, what happens to tony D and bear cuz they r RFAs and won’t disappear for nothing. I like the bottom pair D, I think it’s gonna be exactly that next year. I wouldn’t be shocked if necas was offer sheeted. He had a down year for the canes and played on the fourth line yet outproduced half the team. He is one year removed from a career year as a 22 year old. I think the canes may have to move him for a big piece and I wouldn’t be surprised if that piece is chychrun because they need somebody to replace tony D and he is a top tier option. Tbh I think they trade necas as a part of a chychrun deal, trade tony for prospects and picks so they have cap for the next few years. I could also see them selling high on Raanta because of kochetkov. I do see them making a splash in free agency and while it is without question Malkin is the best free agent this year he is just older and it is a gamble on him. They could use that cap to resign Nino if they wanted. I will say what they are doing right now is very confusing with having 4 key roster pieces possibly leaving the team next year it is gonna be massive holes to fill. All this talking makes me want to make a team so I will @ you with a similar concept but what I feel may be more realistic. Thank you for reading my essay if you did

What debrincat will cost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jance</b></div><div>Supposedly the Hawks have turned down a package that involved 2 firsts (one being a "high" one). Their supposed asking price is 3 firsts, + high prospects ready to make it to the NHL. So with the salary dumps in here, I doubt this would do it. If your gonna go with 2 firsts, it's likely going to cost more than just some "ok prospects," it would probably cost high-level prospects. So no, I don't think this would get you cat.</div></div>
Morrow is a high level prospect and Necas is worth more than a first. So this is essentially 4 firsts plus. Maybe you get higher quality firsts but you’re not getting more than that. It’s also highly likely CHI takes salary back bc if they move Cat they’re rebuilding anyways and that’s how they can maximize the return.

Philly says no and I don’t think JVR is the answer to what we’re looking for.
Also wouldn’t send a first for Kilorn. He’s good but Tampa is gonna likely be in a cap crunch so if we can get him for a steal, do it but not sending a first. Rather keep the first or use it to get a higher end player in Necas package.

For the most part your trades are actually fairly realistic and spot on value-wise, so kudos to you :)
The first trade is pretty good as value...until you see the amount of retention. A team like the Flyers can't afford to retain that much, as this season (like all seasons) they are going to be spending to the cap.
No comments on the TBL trade, it's pretty good and probably what the TBL will get for Killorn, and Killorn in probably the most likely player to be dealt from that team.
The third trade is very solid as far as value goes, except for the part where the Canucks are the ones to retain the salary. The Canucks cannot afford to retain anything as (just like the Flyers) they are going to be spending to the cap already. I think if you change the Canucks to another team (such as the Predators, NJD, or CBJ) the trade is solid.

3 way trade idea read description
I like it. All I would change would be Bear and a third for Killorn and pay a mid round pick for a 3rd team to retain. Try to get a 3rd team to retain half on Kulikov so the Canes can have a little bit of flexibility at the deadline. I love ZAR, but I’m not so sure that he would sign that, but who knows.
