Deadline
Sabres are unlikely to give anything of value for Couture unless it’s a Skinner(Skinner himself being of value) for Couture swap. His injury history this year has put his career in jeopardy and as such no matter the retention it makes little sense to trade assets for a guy who may just be on LTIR for 3 years

I wouldn't trade pick 6+ for 2 years of Andersson. I've learned about Andersson enough to know his defensive zone play has been in a tailspin this year and we can't afford to have another defensively suspect defenseman.

Well he's 3 years younger and to be perfectly honest Couture isn't going to fetch much in a trade between his age, contract, and he's been hurt all season.

Besides that, I'd rather not trade Mitts but I'll give you this; it isn't a terrible return although I'm unsure Carrier is a Top Pair Dman.
Acquiring Faksa, it only works if we trade Mitts due to salary. Seems like a handy bottom line guy though.
No idea who you are trading Erik Johnson for lol
I want something for Olofsson, not future considerations

Mitts, first name is Casey lol
I see Andersson as a Top 2 D man but not a star defenseman. But most of all he isn’t some sort defensive gritty player which is what we desperately need. He’s effectively the best possible version of Jokiharju. All around good defenseman who skates well and has many high end but no elite attributes.

I’d want more for Olofsson and Johnson
Okposo is unlikely to get a 2nd but a 3rd seems doable
Easy no on the Mitts Andersson trade, I’m not trading that much for a singular player who’ll price himself out more than likely in 2 years. Plus our 1st is far too valuable to be a mere add on
Skinner wouldn’t waive so it doesn’t matter

Buffalo would decline that trade; far too much value being moved by Buffalo for a guy with 2 years left on his contract.
That’s a top 6 forward, a top 4 D and a potential Top 6 forward with a 2nd for a singular player. A great player don’t get me wrong but a tad overkill.
Plus we want to keep Casey in Buffalo.
I’d offer Samuelsson, Ostlund and a 2nd for Andersson. I’d go as far as switching Ostlund for Savoie but that’s my cut off

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Reaves can be buried, he's not really the reason why it's light for Calgary. It's the 1.5 years of retention Mangiapane, while also not addressing any specific prospect needs for the Flames. Yes defense in a broad sense is a need but not so much offensive defensemen when Calgary has Poirier, Morin, and Brzustewicz.
Holtz was reportedly part of the package offered I would be shocked if Calgary didn't want a 1st too if there's retention. I think if retention was involved that is probably pretty close to what may have been offered</div></div>
Retention of Markstrom would be a completely different story.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ARMCHAIRGMOFTHEYEAR</b></div><div>I know, I've watched every game. I wouldn't neccesarily value Krebs at a 1st right now, despite the fact I do like him it been nearly impossible for him to escape the 4th Line with Buffalo an develop. To me he's nearing reclamation Project.
Also according to Anthony Di Marco---who has good sources with the Flyers and around the league. He asked if a 1st was a fair price for Laughton and 3 execs he asked said yea. So I think they should be able to get this return. Unless Buffalo still values Krebs a lot. Especially with the recent Monahan trade who got a 1st. and in Previous years Barclay Goodrow deal. Laughton has term and is a really well respected leader (GM value that more than average fan do).</div></div>
My guess is the 1st they are referring to is a late 1st from a playoff team versus a genuine high pick. Presently the Sabres 2nd would be around pick 40, if Laughton is worth a 20-32 pick then I doubt the Sabres would be adding Krebs to cover that gap. Additionally Laughton has dropped off a cliff the last two years so I’d rather steer clear of him

Honestly the Leafs trade seems a tad low in terms of assets going to CGY. Primarily due to Reaves being involved.
The NJ trade seems plain hogwash. I can’t in any scenario imagine NJ trading their 1st this year along with Holtz for a goalie.

Mitts Long Term
Why exactly would we trade in division the better player to get a 1st 2 years out, a 2nd next year and a former 3rd round pick that would need support to be a great player due to a lack of foot speed.
That's an easy no for us.
