Stars make 1 last move ahead of season start, add D depth. Both teams trading from their position of strengths to fill roster needs.

Stars make this move as it helps with the cap, gives them a RD that can slot into the top 4 void created by Klingberg's departure. Nill always starts the season with 8-10 healthy NHL-ready D, and having the forwards to accommodate for Faksa's departure has never been more available than it is now.

Winnipeg makes this move needing NHL forwards, of which they get a proven 3rd line center that new coach Bones has plenty of trust & familiarity with, as well as a young forward who's ready to push for a consistent roster spot in the bottom 6.

Fredrik Karlstrom isn't good enough for a team to take Faske's cap dump. And you want DeMelo back.

If Oettinger and Robertson will take those contracts bury Khudobin and fill in from there.
