I haven't flip flopped from thinking this team is a contender to needing a rebuild, I have consistently said for years that this team needs a reset even if they could make the playoffs they will go no where with that defense.
With the additional 10 million in cap space, the team could also take on bad contracts that expire at seasons end for additional picks.

no shot the wild accept that trade. also i highly doubt isles make the trade with millers contract. no idea what the leafs say

The islanders wouldn’t trade Raty for miller straight up. Having Raty on his ELC will provide a lot more value than a declining miller at 8 mill per till he’s 38

Also Lou lamoriello hates signing bonuses in contracts. He rarely gives them out and he definitely not trading for a contract that has them in multiple years. Millers contract is filled with them

The Leafs say, we would love to have Demko, but 1) it doesn't cost more than a 1st to move Murray, who we don't want to move at this time anyways. 2) at that high ask we will just stick with what we have.
