Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Provorov, Ivan ($3,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Multiple reports say that the Jets are talking to the Flyers about acquiring Provorov.
PHI
  1. Appleton, Mason
  2. Dillon, Brenden
  3. Heinola, Ville
  4. 2024 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
The Flyers get a mid-tier prospect that is looking for a change of scenery. The Flyers don't have a logjam of D on their team so Heinola is the perfect fit. Dillon gives the Flyers a shutdown D to help Carter Hart allow less goals. Appleton is there because of cap space. The 1st is there to even the value, though I could see the 2023 1st going the other way instead of next year's.
2.
WPG
  1. Toews, Jonathan ($5,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Toews is going to his hometown team and now has a higher chance of winning Lord Stanley.
CHI
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (WPG)
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Friedman reported that the asking price for Toews is a second and a third rounder. I could see AJF included in the deal instead of the 2nd rounder, giving the Hawks a speedy winger in their bottom six.
3.
WPG
SEA
  1. Kuhlman, Karson
Additional Details:
any team can pick him up thru waivers. I haven't been a fan of him, he has no finishing ability.

The Chicago trade is a bit high for a player that doesn't really help the Jets but I could live with it if it happens.

I hope Chevy wouldn't consider the Philly trade. That's a pretty hefty price to pay to make a lateral move for a more expensive 2nd pairing guy.

Although I can't see Philly retaining that much for 3 years.

Toews trade could work. Hawks could have picked Johnsson-Fjallby off waivers earlier in the season if they wanted him, so they might take the picks.

You got the Friedman quote exactly wrong. He clarified on 32 Thoughts that he heard from other GMs that they thought the going price for Toews would be a 2nd or a 3rd, and he made clear that this was not the asking price, but what other GMs thought it would be. I'm sure the asking price is a 1st and then they go from there . . . I can see a trade similar to the Mrazek deal . . Toews plus the Hawks 2nd (likely 33 to 36) overall for a First (likely 20-32 overall, depending on the team). And maybe the Hawks are protected, so if that first winds up,say, 28 or later, they get a 2nd or 3rd.

The Mrazek trade is not comparable to the potential of a Toews trade. Mrazek was a cap dump, Toews is not. Toews is worth more than 10 spots in the draft, especially when mid-late first round talent is going to be overflowing fairly deep into the 2nd round. If you were to say the TBL 2nd or a 3rd, I would be more susceptible to that proposal. This argument specifically pertains to the 2023 draft because of how deep it is going to be.
