Hawks accept. We don't really have a use for Victor, but that 2nd is nice.

Ollofsson is producing more than Johnson is. Why would we do that trade?

Also kulich isn't being traded for a goalie

Chicago takes that. Johnson for Olofsson doesn't move the needle much either way so it's like getting free picks.

Victor has been playing much better. But does he have two Cup rings? Johnson's also in Chicago where the Hawks have been in tank mode for the past couple of seasons.

As for Kulich, I like the player, but the emergence of Benson, along with Rosen beating him out for a spot, squeezed him out of the picture.

It's a hefty price but getting Saros for two+ seasons allows the Sabres to reset their goalie situation. It also gives them a great shot at ending the playoff drought this season and progressing in the playoffs the next two years.
