Kings won’t spend 6m on a 35 year old tender, if you retained 50% then it’s worth considering but even with 50% retained I doubt he would fetch a 1st

Calgary accepts the Colorado offer over all the others. If Colorado doesn't want to trade Ritchie then they take the Ottawa offer.

Pick #7 for a 34 year old goalie lol. Not a chance on earth we'd do that.

Cory Schneider was 27 when he was traded, and posted a .927, .929, and .937 save percentages the three years before he was traded.
Markstrom is 34 if he is traded this offseason, and has had .892, .905, and .922 save percentages the past three years.
I don't see the comp at all?

Perhaps a better comp would be Marc-Andre Fleury to the Wild
Flower was 36 when he was traded. He had posted .905, .908, and .928 save percentages the three years prior. The return was a conditional second that become a first if Minnesota made the conference finals and Fleury had 4 wins in the first two rounds.

Or Cam Talbot to Ottawa for Filip Gustavvson
Talbot was 34 at the time of the trade and had recorded .911, .915, and .919 save percentages the previous three years. Gustavvson was a recent second round draft pick. I don't know team's prospect pools well enough to give a comparable player, but let's assume it's a second.

The market rate for good, aging goalies seems to be right around a second. Not a top 10 pick or a team's best prospect.

I think that those trades are a pipe dream. Even with a 50% retention.

Markstrom's numbers this year are not an indicator of his play. IMO, he was a top 5 goalie this season. That said, a team might have given up those assets if they would've gotten 3 playoff runs out of Markstrom @ $3M, in a market where there was a lot of demand and zero supply.

However, now we're talking about potentially one good run, which isn't worth the gamble. The injuries this year, and the inconsistency from one season to another all make him a risky acquisition.

The Flames were negotiating from a position of strength at the deadline, and they still don't have to move Markstrom, but I don't see the demand being high enough to justify those prices.

At this point, I think he brings back a mid-first(15-20) with retention.
