Can't do a sign and trade when the draft is before July 1st. Sign and trades also just don't happen ever with pending UFA's. There's no incentive to have a player pre-signed like there is with an expired RFA

If anyone pays anything to acquire JT at his $11M full cap, that GM should loose their job.

So the Wild, a team with $6m in cap space this summer, trades for Marner and his almost $11m cap hit? I'm no capologist, but that just doesn't work.

And the Hawks can't decline that trade fast enough. Especially since the Leafs don't have that Minnesota 1st to use.
