That is really really bad for Anaheim.....

Both McTavish and Mintyukov are off limits even if we were interested in Marner.

Will Marner be traded? Probably.
Will he go to Anaheim? Probably not.
Will he bring ANYTHING near that return? Absolutely not.

There is no way the Ducks trade away two of their best young players in McTavish (who many have as their next captain) and Mintyukov for 1 year of Marner. They shouldn't even do it if it comes with a full 8 year extension.

I also don't know what that Reilly trade is. Trading away your only defensemen who puts up good offense (at the expense of defense of course) for a defensive defenseman and a way too expensive 3rd liner.

Ducks laugh their asses off at that, not even close

Marner trades are speculative to the point of mootness because we can't tell, and nobody knows, whether we're getting one season of Mitch Marner or seven, so this is idle and meaningless conjecture.

Anaheim projects that five of the top 6 forward positions are set for the near future: Zegras and Gauthier at LW, Carlsson and McTavish at C, and Terry at RW. Marner would obviously be a nice sixth, but we've seen absolutely no reason to believe that he would sign a long-term contract in Southern California. One season of Marner does us no good because there's no chance that adding him would make the Ducks a playoff team in 2025 -- the Ducks finished TWENTY GAMES out of the playoffs this year, and Mitch isn't going to overcome that. And the idea that we would trade McTavish or Mintyukov, let alone both of them, is just cuckoo.
