Good signing. Underrated depth player for Anaheim. Plays well defensively and chips in 30+ points every year.

Agreed. This guy is very underrated and can play in many different areas, like penalty kill and power play. I think the ducks were lucky to get him at that cheap of a price.

The Ducks know what they're getting. All 82 games, 30-40 points, penalty killing, good defensively, a solid complementary player in the top six. Great contract for the Ducks.

I get that you have to pony up for competent depth, but 3.25 million dollars? For 30-40 points? With, for the most part, mediocre possession numbers, even while in a bottom six role? This isn't a bad contract, but I feel like it could have been better.

Cogliano is a decent middle 6 forward, and it's a good deal, but i feel like some people overvalue him because of his iron man streak.

Was really hoping the Oil would bring him back... probably tough to talk him into leaving Cali though.

Cogliano is the type of middle six forward many teams search for. The consistency (not only his iron man streak) he brings game-in, game-out and year-in, year-out is something that many many coaches seek in middle-bottom 6 players. This is a very average contract for this era and what the salary cap is at now.
