Did I miss something regarding Giroux? Did he say he wants out? Did Philly say they're selling? If they win their next 2 games...they're tied with PIT and would then have played the same # of games.

innovative, I like the idea, but not likely with such a heated rivalry, however, if there was a 3rd team in there unbenounced to PHIL, that would get crazy + likely to need a 1st

maybe more of a 4th for Sheahan, but overall I like the originality

In what world is Giroux worth only that? He's only a few points behind Crosby/Malkin/Kessel. Would you trade that offer for one of those guys?

Personally i wouldnt trade them. But if a team does trade players like that, the return is nowhere near what fans expect, because fans see other teams as being unable to afford them. But look at the kessel deal or the hall deal or most deals like this, more should have been given.

A bottom pairing dman they don't need, a 3rd liner, a good prospect, and a late 2nd for Girioux? The same Girioux that's up there with the guys with the most point Girioux? Not even close enough for his value.

There's a difference, T.O WANTED to move Kessel. They just wanted to rid themselves of that contract. I said it at the time too, MTL was silly for not matching and beating Pitts offer. That was peanuts on the dollar for a really good player still.

Giroux is not being ushered out of Philly. I think they are perfectly hapy with him. I don't see what this trade would happen?

But he is when he isn't playing with the best player in the world. In fact he gets scratched when he isn't. But even if you want to say he's top 6, he isn't a show stopping top 6 that PHI will get in return if they traded Girioux. Guentzel would have to be the guy moved, not Sheary.

Also, he's spent over 400 minutes of his 668 minutes this season at 5v5 with Crosby and still only has 17 5v5 points.

It's definitely an interesting idea. As good as Giroux has been this year, I don't think that his value is that high because he's already 30, with 4 more years left at $8.25M, and isn't the fastest guy to begin with. His last couple of years before this were definitely underwhelming.

He's having a tremendous year, but if someone offered Philly a good package I could see them wanting to get rid of that contract before they have to start giving extensions to Provorov and the next wave of Flyers.

Not sure the fit makes sense in Pittsburgh, but definitely intriguing.

Replace Cole with Letang or Schultz and it’s closer. And even that still might not be enough to get Giroux since it’s between rivals. Philly wouldn’t basically hand us a cup. They would want us to basically blow up the team for him. Could use those assets for a more complete team.

Yikes, that Philadelphia trade doesn't really make any sense.

A defensemen that Philadelphia doesn't need with his young players coming up (Sanheim/Morin/Myers). A prospect that has value, but that has the possibility to be lost in the shuffle. A bottom-six caliber player in Conor Sheary in terms of what his ability to drive play is and how he won't have a role long term with Philadelphia. And a late second round pick.

MacDonald and Lehtera will both be off the books and Philadelphia has plenty of space to sign its young guns and still have Giroux.
