Fairish TDL Deals

Created by: Bellairs
Team: 2017-18 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 19, 2018
Published: Feb. 19, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
These trades wont all happen. I’m just showing what would be fair and what makes sense.

PIT Needs: depth center
DAL Needs: Depth Scoring, Winger, Cheap
STL Needs: Depth Scoring, winger, Swap partner
WPG Needs: Big Depth Scoring, Leadership
TBL Needs: Veteran, Solid, Defenseman

PIT Trade:
Desharnais- Cheap, past high end point scorer. Perfect 4th line center, decent 3rd line center.

DAL Trade:
Grabner- cheap, easy 25+ goal scorer, solid work ethic, good penalty killer, can play with anyone. 1st round pick is a must, prospect (Honka) makes it even. With his cap hit of 1,000,000 per, he’s a perfect rental a lot of teams will most likely be asking for so the price will be semi-high.

STL Trade:
Zucc- Incredible work ethic and leadership, excellemt vision, solid sniper.
Holden- decent 3rd pairing guy, helps fill the missing whole with gunnarsson
retained salary helps their cap situation, a top prospect for Zucc is needed, 1st/2nd helps even out the deal

WPG Trade:
Nash- Solid versatile power forward, past great point scorer, good penalty killer and power play player. Retained salary helps wpg’s cap situation
Vesey- young, decent player, has potential and cheap. Can elevate his game at time and play top pairing minutes.
top prospect/1st pick is a must (vesey helps fill the void of KC)

TBL Trade:
Mcdonagh- great top 30 defenseman in the NHL, two way team leader, has had a rough patch due to awful team defense but with the right players can be a great asset, very versatile, retained salary helps TBL cap situation. 1st round pick is a must, high end prospect is a must (for the player recieving and the contract being taken in return), callahan to help cap situation and even the deal.

Hate to burst your bubble but you can only retain salary on 3 contracts at a time. STL could definitely take on Holden's full cap hit if you retain more on Zucc.

I know. This is more like what the next week could be like. I didnt mean for all of these trades to happen. Maybe one or two

Sorry man but TB and WPG would be crazy to trade young assets like Connor and Sergachev for immediate upgrades. Those guys aren't "prospects" anymore. They are full fledged roster players. They take 1 step forward to take 2 steps back right after. It makes no sense.

With the amount of young talent WPG has I feel like they’d be fine. TBL has good prospects plus Mac is still young playing top 2

What incentive do they have to do this though? Nash is a UFA and is arguably not as "good" as Connor is already and a lot older. Vesey has been a disappointment thus far. Im not sure why they do this. Does it make them better? I personally don't think so. Has nothing to do with them having talent to compensate.

As for the McDonagh, yeah he'd definitely be a good add but the problem is, they are sacrificing 2 years of McDonagh for what could be 10+ Years of Sergachev who is already established. Yeah they get better this year and maybe next year but after that they are down McD and Sergachev. Considering they are already a cup favorite, why sacrifice this? Once again 1 step forward, to take 2 steps back in the not too distant future.

I did some tweaking to make it better. I didnt take thought of how trading current roster players effects the current season

Vesey hasn’t had much help and is **** on by the awful coaching of young players by the Rangers HC.

Not getting Connor from them. Better off going for roslovic. As for Mac, TB and BOS aren’t fits. What rangers want is not what is going to be given up. Best off revisiting a trade for him at the draft unless someone comes out of nowhere and gives a crazy offer. If a team were to do that I would guess blues since they have trade chips to get it done but I really can’t see it happening.

The general rule of thumb is TDL moves always involve players that aren't main pieces of a current teams roster. Otherwise whats the point. They are only upgrading instead of adding. Most times its for picks and prospects only.

Yeah fair enough on Vesey but that only adds to my point.

Beside the retainers, what the hell was the point of him trading Stepan and drafting two centers?!? Klim Kostin will not be a fourth line center anywhere! You'll have a new second and third line pivot in Andersson and Chytil soon enough. Stop trading for this guy! Seriously!

Look for a right shot wing to add, either from the firsts you'll acquire or another deal. Since the Crash Test Dummy aka Gorton wants players, if you insist to trade Zuccarello, get THIS!

This doesn't make sense... Nash isn't worth Roslovic, but Zuc and McD are worth more than you got back. You're all over the place.

Soooooo what does Dallas going to the WCF have anything to do with the St. Louis pick?

Also why didn't you actually fill the roster?

Yeah, Heiskanen is more valuable than any player from NYR. And you expect that Dallas will trade their best prospect and 3rd overall pick from last year to a rental?

    Get your medicine.
