Description
Here's the part where everyone tells my I'm stupid.
Gamble for both teams
Pit gets a fresh young elite D man and a decent prospect with no ahl or nhl experience and some cap space.
Buf gets a goal scoring winger, a young starting goalie, and a top pairing d man that can be relied on...Not to mention GMJB knows all the players going to BUF.

Elite dman with very very high potential with not much risk seeming it's just drafting for two ahl players, an injury prone 31 year old dman and a cap dump. That's a more realistic explanation.

Nooooo how is PIT gambling they get a good prospect and an elite peospect to take on a cap dump while dumping all their garbage on the Sabres. Letang had a bad year, has probably hit his pinnacle, and has a ton of miles on him. Hes the only decent piece going to Buf.

Well you did call it in your description 'here's the part where everyone tells me I am stupid'...... Well I was raised to NEVER call anyone stupid as everyone has the ability to think and learn.....

So I offer this for you to ponder..... If you were GMBots and had a chance to draft a DMan that is being compared to Dennis Potvin, et al with the ability to have him as a foundational piece of your organization for the next 10-15 years would you really ever entertain trading that chance away...... the only two trades that come to mind would be he would need to get Eric Lindros or Hershel Walker value in return and even if he did I do not think he would say yes to a trade.

If GMBots traded away the ability to draft Dahlin GMBots puts a target on his back and his life span in Buffalo was reduced considerably. If he makes that trade or any trade to move out of #1 overall he is done being a GM in Buffalo and probably a GM on any other team in the NHL. Would you risk your job and future jobs?

I would think not.... so now you have been able to ponder the information I hope you learned that GMBots is not in a position to even entertain trading out of #1.
