As good as Crosby is, we'd have nobody to support him if we made a trade like this. You've traded all of our top 9 RW's here, so our 1st line RW would be JT Brown, lol.

Im one of those crybabies that will hate on a post like this! Crosby shall never go! Superstars never get a return thats worth it so no thanks, just look at that Karlsson or Hall or any other Superstar deal.

It would be different if Pittsburgh became a poor team and wanted to change their direction. If that were the case, tho, Crosby would be a major reason why the team plummeted, which would also decrease his value. Trading him now, if he were to waive NMC of course, might be the best time to do so. He is still one of the games very best and relatively young (that is, he’s still got at least 3-4 great years left in him). The return would not be equal value so I would stock up on high picks and, especially, top prospects if I were GMJR.

as long as the team is a Stanley cup contender it would be dumb to trade the best player in the entire league, especially for picks and prospects. If the team was not a contender anymore then you can trade superstar players for lots of picks/prospects but I think Crosby is one of the few no matter even if they clearly won the trade hockey wise(getting three first round picks and a couple seconds and a few good prospects for Crosby when he is 35) the team wouldn't make the trade due to other reasons.
