Leafs fan final response: No.

I would do that package with Dumba instead of Spurgeon.

Would like it better with Gards instead of zaitsev, we retain 50% on gards you retain 50% on spurgeon. I think resigning gardiner is a no brainer for the wild, hometown kid.

Lots of moving pieces....and good pieces. I think Nylander, Brown for Coyle and Spurgeon is about fair. Term (Nylander 5 years) and salary are about even. Leafs would have to believe that Kunin is going to be a NHLer to make the trade. I like Zaitsev (most of the time). Trading Zaitsev would provide Leafs cap relief for this year so they could make a deal for Dman short term, and have more cap next year.

I disagree with Jamie above, I think the Leafs need puck moving Gardiner this year, but next year Spurgeon, Reilly, Ozhigikov, Dermot (13m for your top four) maybe Liljegren, Sandin, Rosen and or cap for UFA 5th/6th guy...I'll take that.
So Bassman you're being a hard ass with your final offer. OK this Leaf fan accepts your trade suggestion.

I hate that I'm saying this, but I'd do it. I'd much prefer to trade Eriksson Ek and maybe a pick instead of Kunin, but Nylander offers everything our team lacks.

If you think leafs need a puck mover call up Rosen. I’ve got nothing against gards I think he is great. A move to the wild feels like a good spot for him. The reason why I like this...

Reilly/spurgeon
Dermott/zaitsev
Hainsey/ozhiganov

I think it allows zaitsev to be that puck mover rather than be the one covering for jake. If liljegren isn’t ready next season ( his defence is still lacking) we would run the same thing with Rosen in for hainsey. If liljegren is ready we can rotate him in and out with Oz and ease him in. Hopefully bu the year after have liljegren in second pair.

I think 24 year old Rosen is in the AHL for a reason, he isn't good enough. Zaitsev the puck mover? I don't the faith that you have is his ability to lug the puck. I'm really talking this year, that it's better that the Leafs keep Jake.

Zaitsev can move the puck pretty well, doesn’t get much of a chance with gardiner. Rosen is in the ahl because of our left side depth. Evident by his points this season (and pre season for the leafs) whether he is 24 or not he is leading the marlies in scoring as a defensmen for a reason.

Well hope you're right about Rosen, because it sure would be nice to have another cost effective Dman this year or next. We have seen over the years....decades, high scoring Dmen in the AHL who can't make the transition to the NHL. Like all players you don't know till they get the chance.

Even forwards.... I see the leading scorer from the ahl last year is on waivers now... zykov... have to think someone takes a stab at him.

I've attended Marlies games throughout the years....even when they played in Newmarket and you would see a guy seemingly dominate a game. Then when they played in the NHL, they look lost, mostly because they don't have the speed or quick decision making that is so needed in the NHL.

Except for the fact that I have less than zero interest in Gardiner...
