What do you EDM fans want for Larsson in 2019 preseason

Created by: SammyT_51
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 6, 2018
Published: Dec. 6, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Brown, Zaitsev and 2nd (either in 2019 or 2020, it is a draft trade) is my idea. And they are NOT cap throw-ins.. geez. Zaitsev would fit well with Klefbom, getting help of a better puck mover (Larsson is very good puck mover as well but I see Zaitsev as a bit better one) and Brown would be perfect winger for McDavid and would likely score between 25-30. Would you do it?

Also instead of hating on deal, add serious counteroffer.

Also yes I decided to keep Hainsey for 1 more year. He is very good defensive security and him with Liljegren would form a nice little pairing to help Liljegren with translation into NHL.

Not going to argue whether Zaitsev or Brown are cap dump/throw ins, but this is the old "quantity over quality" story. Zaitsev isn't bad, and neither is Brown, but both of those guys are the type of players that the Oilers can get as UFA's this summer, and can likely get cheaper/better terms on.

Chia already lost one Larsson trade, I can't imagine he wants to do it again.

And I take that argument, it makes sense. I think Brown is on a very good deal if he is great with McDavid and can be longerterm solution as well. I just wanted counteroffers.

Swap out Zaitsev for something cheaper then I would say this is a good deal. Edmontons cap situation is dire, they can't afford to take back 3 mill.

So chirelli turned Taylor hall into a bottom 6 winger; a bottom pairing D, and a 2nd?
Chirelli won’t Trade larsson, and even if he did, that package isn’t enough

For sure. I mean, the value could well be there. What about Kap+something?

They would take 2.5 back but still they actually for 2019/20 season they can.

I agree with this thinking too. Edmonton would be more interested in a player like Johnsson, a quick winger who can play up and down the lineup. The issue is that he's a 'key' player for Toronto in that he will be on a cheaper contract which will help them next year.

Yeah, that's why I figured maybe Kapanen...IMO he's in line for a Reinhart-type bridge deal ($3.something/2-3 years).

Connor Brown would work on McDavids wing but Kapanen works too.

Kapanen has the speed to play with McDavid and Brown the high level of physicality and scoring to be McDavids perfect winger.

if the leafs wanted larsson the starting point is kapanen. after that probably throw in a second and you have a deal. the oilers best RW rn is caggula or puljijarvi. kapanen would slide in nice with mcdavid (fastest duo in the league) and could be a 30+ goal scorer with mcdavid. I dont think they bite on a package they want a good player back themselves and zaitsev and brown just arnt good enough imo for them to genuinly believe the trade would benefit their team.

I don't see any way Edmonton's GM parts with Larsson for anything other than a young top-6 or a package of a high draft pick and top prospect. I don't think Larsson gets dealt until a new GM steps in, which I would imagine to be the case if the Oilers miss the playoffs again this spring.

Question is, which trade is worse: Larsson for Hall straight up, or Erat and Latte for Forsberg?

Would need money retained on zaitsev and a better winger coming back (think Johnsson)

Pretty clearly erat because Washington has nothing to show for that trade and Edmonton has a top 4 defenseman

Hahaha, I think you know the answer to this...

Though at least Forsberg hadn't done anything yet when he was traded, whereas Hall had...I suppose there's an argument for both sides. But yeah, I wonder if George MacPhee got asked about that before Vegas hired him?
