I doubt Chicago will want to retain anything if they trade him. They will want as much cap space as possible..Esp with Kane still producing

Im gonna say no. Reinhart is on pace for 70 plain vanilla points at under 4 mill. The two firsts might not even be til next year. Guhle is a top prospect and sheary might be useful yet. Even at 8.5 its a lot to give up for a winger on the down swing.

Why is everyone saying he's on the downswing? I get he's thirty and people THINK that means he should be regressing, but he isn't yet. He's actually on pace to have the second highest scoring season of his career, even though the Hawks are a brutal team around him. Marty St Louis still had back to back 90+ point seasons at ages 34-35, maybe Kane does the same? Reinhart's deal is for sure a steal at the moment but after next season you'll see that increase by a good chunk.

I think this has been the most realistic package for Kane that I've seen. Hawks won't want to eat salary but I agree I think with a little negotiating they could eat 2-2.5

Id give kane 8-10 as a ufa tomorrow, im not giving up a package for him too. The wingers that continue to produce at an elite level into their mid 30s are the exception.
