When he overpaid player? Tavares is on pace for 50 goals (If Kopitar can get 10.5, Tavares at 11 is great) and Nylander for under 7 is great value.. those are 2 huge deals he signed..

This one star rating is by a delusional leafs hater. That is rough. Honestly some of these contracts are too much (Kapanen for one).

He isnt. Is Gaudreau overpaid? Is Kucherov overpaid? Pastrnak at 6.67x6 is massive steal and he is underpaid. When you record 2 points even when you are stiff from long break.. you are not overpaid. Nylander has similar value to what Kucherov had 3yrs ago (and rightfully, similar numbers). If he signed for 7 then would it be overpayment? Maybe for some people.. now is one of the premier stars in league. Would Nylander reach his level? Most likely not BUT even 80-90% of Kucherov is one of the top players in the league.. stop saying Nylander is overpaid, he isnt. And he would prove it. But I get the point.

how can u even compare gaudreau or kucherov to nylander. nylander isnt even close. nylander is not better then pastarnak. and considering the leafs cap sitatiation, u did over pay him. and ur gonna have to trade him next season. stiff from a long break? I wouldn't be calling Dubas but I would calling Babcock. Having a roster of 20, Gauthier on the wing, Holl in the starting lineup, Ozzie at LHD. Sorry this doesn't work.

I mean, Oz has played LD before, and very well for a long time. I'd be interested to see what Holl could do with a regular spot (or at least playing him) as I think he could be a decent 6 on a 42-42 rotation with another guy, so I think those parts aren't entirely unrealistic.

I am not a Leafs fan but these seem like fair signings and you get to keep all of your guys. I often see people undervalue Kapanen but I think you gave him a good contract here. Maybe Marner goes the Nylander route and holds out for as high as he can go but I don't think anyone is going to say that he should get a lot more than what you put here. You even have cap room to bring in some scratches/backups!

I never said Nylander is better than Pastrnak lol. I think back to back 60+ point seasons within terms of ELC is something. He proved he is skilled and has talent and can be great playmaker WHICH HE ALREADY IS.. how can I compare Kucherov and Gaudreau to Nylander? Easily.. eye test is one thing, he skates as well as them and he makes plays as good as them, you may not agree but just look at games.. stats are second: Kucherov recorded 131 points 159 games in 2nd and 3rd year of his contract and Nylander 122 in 163 games (playing with rookie Matthews as well) which is just a small difference. Their playing style is similar. Kuch is better scorer and Nylander better playmaker. And expect Nylander to be 80-90 point player maybe right next season..

Lots of leaf haters same one who said nylander is getting 8-9m just turn on to the next contract and say mathews gets 14m and marner gets 11m and you have to trade everyone. It’s all just jealousy this is a decent agm.

Couple of small changes that should be made. 2nd pair D should be dermott and lily 3rd pair Rosen ozhiganov.

the cap is high as hell this year but after this year he is just under 7 like he should be.

I think Kyle did a nice job here. Kappy could he high, he looks great this year and developing into a real jice player, but i think he hes something like 30 points in 80 some games over 4 seasons split with the Marlies. He might be forced to take a haircut bridge. Like others have suggested, maybe something in the range of Anderson in Columbus but a bit more to account for inflation and Kappys potential

He still has almost 2.5M in cap space. That fills out the press box. And who knows what Holl is? 2 goals in 3 NHL games with some silly Corsi numbers and a real nice Marlie run last year. Maybe he is the RHD version of Lievo? Maybe he never plays in the NHL again.

maybe, but that doesnt mean that guys like marner and matthews will take less. heck nylander set a trend among rfa's now. this is gonna be an interesting summer for sure for this group of guys. including raantanen, tkachuk, point. cap goes up, so does the players demands. ur gonna have to trade nylander eventually
