I just wonder if it's worth Boston futures to trade for Stone. Is any team going to beat Tampa in the Atlantic?

Might as well make the most of it while we still have bergy, krech, marchy, chara and tukka somewhat in their prime, right?

It’s hard to think there’d be much better offers than that on the table for Ottawa...they’d be dumb to turn that down IMO

And when they fall short and Stone walks will you think it was worth it?

I'd rather throw all that at the Rangers and get Kreider for two playoff runs. Can't see Boston being able to resign Stone, too much $$$$$$$$.

Although I don't like the trade. As they say in poker, all you need is a chip and a chair.

Probably a bit much for Stone, but at this point its impossible to tell what he'll go for, if he goes at all. As for Hayden, that looks fair, but I'm not sure why you'd want him, there's nothing there offensively

I would assume that if Boston is sending a package like this Ottawa's way they are also prepared to make the cap space to re-sign him. The bigger question in my opinion is whether or not he is willing to resign in Boston.

I agree that it's a huge question. That's why I think they are out of the Stone running for this season. They will go after him July 1. Then they have to figure out how to move Backes.

Legit question. Would you rather:

a) see Boston completely punt their future and get Stone; or

b) see Ottawa completely punt trade negotiations and lose Stone for nothing in July

Option A for sure. It’s going to be a long while before Ottawa is any sort of contender.
