Umm this just has to be one of the worst trades I've seen. Point is TOP10 C in the world, Ristolainen's barely a TOP50 D.

Even though Callahan is a cap dump, that trade is far from fair.

Only BUF player TB would trade Point to is Eichel, and most likely TB would lose that one. Dahlin could work too.

To put Point in the same conversation as Eichel and Dahlin is laughable. You are comparing elite superstar talent to Point?! Point is good, but don't forget he's playing on an all-star team. I see the trade as a 6mil cap dump and a good 2C for a top 4 Right-shot d-man and a 3rd rounder.

Debatable. At least this season he has been TOP10, if not TOP5.

You undervalue Point soooooo much.

He plays 2 to 3 minutes less a night comparing to Eichel and he has outscored him both this and last season.

Not bad for "just a 2C" huh?

If Eichel and Point were on the same team, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Point outplays Eichel from the 1C slot. As an all-around player, he is in my opinion better.

For Eichel's defense, I gotta say his numbers have been affected by his injuries - and this is also something where Point is better, he's much more durable.

Buffalo isnt moving eichel or dahlin, unfortunately even if you package reinhart, mittlestadt, and our first this year (assuming we dont win a top 2 pick), its short. More realistic move is seeing which 5 million dollar forward can be had from tampa that would make a difference as long as callahan came back with him.

I mean, that's not happening.

Eichel would have 100 assists a season playing with kucherov and/or Stamkos and company

The only way buffalo gets Point is to offer sheet him.

I dont see them trading him, nonetheless in the division

I agree. BUF should definitely not trade Eichel, nor should TB trade Point.

Point being that if BUF were to acquire Point, Eichel could be a realistic demand, entirely based on how good Point has been.

I disagree. I would be interested to see what Point would do on a team like Buffalo.

All Sabre fans let's presume Ristolainen played for another team, would you trade Eichel for Ristolainen, I would not. BriseBois will not trade Point for Ristolainen even if Callahan has 3 more years remaining on his contract.
Just remember the reason BriseBois is being pressured to move Callahan is to make room to sign Point, so including Point in a trade that involves Callahan makes absolutely no sense for Tampa.

I would not classify this as the worse trade (it is among the worse) but it is counter productive. Making room to sign Point is the reason BriseBois feels compelled to trade Callahan

I assure you, Point would not be traded for Ristolainen. Buffalo's 3rd will be nearly the same as Tampa's 2nd and taking on Callahan's salary also has value, but needing to clear cap space is the reason for trading Callahan.

Actually, you are correct, he is top 5 in reality: http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20182019&seasonTo=20182019&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=points,goals,assists
