I could see NJ accepting this. But it isn't worth it for VAN.

Quality doesn't equal quantity...no way do the devils do that trade. You can offer Pettersson for the 1st round pick and the Devils will probably pass on it. Hughes is a generational talent with about as much upside as we've seen in recent drafts; same as Dahlin last year. Guys like Dahlin, Hughes, McDavid, Matthews, Stamkos, Kane, Crosby...Hughes is in that same position as all of those guys were and all are generational talents. You build teams around guys like this, you don't trade away that unless the offer is just crazy good.

Not all brothers are like Sedins what if they be want to be on the same team.

Look up the Eric Lindros trade for comparison Vancouver would take the place of The Flyers.

Just throwing this out there, Hughes is great, but I think Petterson is going to be better. (Not a Vancouver fan)

Quite possibly. I don't see Hughes as a generational talent in the same vein as Dahlin, McDavid, Crosby, etc. Not all 1st overalls were created equal.

He's getting put in that same category and I think it's possible and I know size isn't everything, but he'll have to put on lots of size to be that generational talent.

I see him as more MacKinnon than Mcdavid which is still pretty Damn good.

I don't think the Devils do this. Nobody wants to be known as the guy who traded a franchise player away for lesser pieces..... well except for maybe Peter Chiarelli. (Seguin + Hall trades lol)

McDavid & Crosby are generational of which there are very few ..... everyone else was a very talented & clear 1st choice in their draft but never a sure thing by any means ... Hughes has the potential to be very good but by no means is he generational
