Description

I know I kept it on 2018-19 but Idk NJ well enough to do all the resignings and such so bear with me and focus on the 2 trades.

Trade #1- NJ sticks with grooming Nico into their #1 center and give him a franchise winger in Kakko to play together for years to come and move up from 32nd pick to late first round in a deep draft.

NYRs get an American franchise center in Hughes. It's just too good of a fit for the Big Apple.

Trade #2- Straight up swap of two top 10 picks who have underachieved up to this point. NJ picks up a fellow countryman of their newly drafted stud.

Never said they weren't but if I'm the Rangers I at least inquire about moving up to get Hughes and this is what I think would be an acceptable price for both teams.

Why? I think kakko and Hughes are very close in value. More of a positional move as Kakko May not be suited for Centre right away.

Devils do not have the 32nd pick. Senators do, lotto only impacts round 1. I take Hughes every day. Nico and Hughes two 1Cs, please.

Kakko isn’t a center he is a winger. He’s not being moved to center lmao

Agree with everything you said aside from grooming Kakko for center, he is %100 a winger.

NYR and our fan base are perfectly pleased with Zibenajad as our 1C and will therefore pick Kakko. Plus, Hischier is great but he is not a top line center and personally I don’t think he will be, whereas Hughes has that ability. Bob McKenzie also said that he expects NJ to draft Hughes and for NY not to go off the board, meaning they will draft Kakko.

I think teams feel more comfortable with the North America center compared to the euro winger. A late first isn’t enough to move the needle. Kakko might be awesome, but I’m always going with the better center

So, the Devils don't want to have two good young centres? As we have seen having just two good/star centres maybe isn't good enough

Rangers are fine at #2. Leave the pressure on the Devils to make the 1st pick. Whichever way they go, the Rangers will be more than happy with the other selection. No reason to lose our other 1st Rounder when we are already set to get one of the 2 best players available.
