i wouldn't mind any of these, but probably need to give up more to move lucic. the 2 years going back boston's way are big as he's underperformed more than backes

The only reason Boston moves Backes is to get rid of the cap hit. They would not do it to take back a worse cap hit and a lousy 3rd round pick. Backes is 10x the player Lucic is right now anyway.

Doesn't make much sense for Boston. Lucic is owed more real money and a 3rd doesn't cover that.

For that return, Drouin isn't going to EDM as well... Lol, moving 7 spots (for a player whom potential is really close to the 15th) and a B+ prospect... We need impact players, we already have a ton of prospects. We need Drouin. Sekera is a cap dump, you seems to forgot this

Montreal says no, moving up 7 spots doesn't cost a 50 point young winger and 15th overall, while still taking a cap dump. Benson is a decent prospect but he iznt enough to make up the difference.

That’s ok cause I am not a fan of Drouin anyway, you can keep him. Oilers don’t need an inconsistent, moody player on the team.

In my mind, Drouin will never be more than 60 point producer in his career. Just not enough consistency from him. Sekera in his last full season in 16-17 had 35 points and was a +14. The injuries weren't his bodies fault, he got caught on a dirty hit and then was rushed back too quick, neither of those things are his fault. Benson can be a guy like Michael Frolik, Zach Hyman, Mathieu Perrault were for the Canafian playoff teams this year. In that I mean a big middle 6 six FW. Plus moving up 7 spots gets you a better player in the draft. (Preferably a D)

Wasn't Puljujarvi playing with an injury this year?

No thanks to the Montreal trade. I’d rather keep Benson.

Correct. He had hip surgery to end the season, but prior to that I understand he was getting shots for pain before every game. And since the injury* occurred during summer training, I don't think you can use this whole season as any sort of indicator at all. The issue hindered his skating.

*Apparently he's had hip problems for many years, but strenuous training exacerbated the issue this past summer. He thought he could play through it because he's always had soreness, but the team finally pulled the plug in February.
