If they got Hughes would there be a reason to trade for Kadri?

Your theory is probably right. But even for Hughes it's a big jump to the NHL. I like Kadri but don't consider him a "2C". Many of my Leaf friends will disagree, but I don't he has the offensive abilities to be a great difference maker offensively . In his two 30 goal seasons, 13 goals a year were on the PP, almost exclusively as left winger with Matthews.

....and if they won 2017 lottery, they would have Hischier as well. They should trade for Taylor Hall. He seems to help with Lotteries.

Really?

I love Makar, but don’t think I’d take him over Hischier in any circumstance.

You’re a Devils fan I get it. Hischier is good but this isn’t him compared to Mack. You are not looking at makar who is joint to be a very very special player,

Also Mack and hish play dramatically different style games.

Makar very much can be the next Erik karlsson level damn in this league and that’s why it’s makar over hish every time for avs fans.

I think barrie is still dealt though, maybe for a 2nd line winger then. Also i think it would have changed our free agent signings as well, we would probily have persued pavelski to be on his wing and coach him into being a pro.

I am trying to show Hischiers value to a Colorado fan. Would you have traded MacKinnon after two years for d-man with upside?

Different style of players my man....point totals is one thing, plus minus means nothing, playoffs means nothing when comparing the playoffs. Out of context 5v5 cf% means nothing.
Look at the context as well if yuo are going to cherry pick stats. Nico Ozone starts in his first 2 seasons 60.4% and 54.2%. Mack 51.5% and 49.1% Ozone starts. Mack 388 & 323 Shot Attempts, with a 10 and 7% shooting%. Nico 289 & 248. with a 11.1 and 10.6 shooting%.

Thats the point Mack was considered still a dominate player despite stat production bc of his shot volume and ungodly low shooting percentage for his shot production. You cant really compare the 2, just bc they are 1st overall picks. Different players in different situations, and put into drastically different roles on their teams.

I wouldnt have traded Mack, and just bc I would prefer Makar over Hischiers doesnt mean the Devils should trade him or something silly like that. I just think Hischier is a good but not elite talent but Makar can be very special in this league. Makar and HIeskenen will probably come out of that draft class as the top 2 players
