Hard no.

Habs don't need Letang, they do need Gallagher's goals though.

Not a chance. I wouldn't even trade Danault or Gallagher for Letang 1 for 1.

Lmao

please elaborate.

My thoughts are:
Gallagher = younger, 30 goal scorer, leader on the team, fan favorite.
Danault = younger, great shut down center, can center top line.

Letang is RD (Weber, Petry), 32, 7.25M, injury prone.

I don't care that you would reject this notion, but at least use your brain and give reasons as to why these two players and a draft pick is worth a redundancy in our defensive line-up...

No. They don’t need a RD. This is creates holes while plugging none.

Philly and Ducks decline too.

So let me get this straight.

you want:
Gallagher (Young, 30 goal scorer, very good 5on5 scorer, GREAT contract, best years ahead of him) AND
Danault (Young Centre, Selke vote, Habs position of need, best years ahead of him)

for

Letang (ONE fully healthy season in the NHL, Not a contract worth taking, Canadiens strongest position RD, best years behind him)

I think people have to differentiate a bad trade from it simply doesn't make sense.

This trade makes zero sense. (For the Habs other than Letang is french)

Letang is still a very good dman but he's a righty, the Habs don't need a righty and he's 32 years old an injury prone. Not sure why the Habs would give up their best goalscorer and currently their best overall center for a position they don't need and a player that's oozing with high risk.

I am a Montreal fan, I was explaining why I wouldn't trade Gallagher or Danault straight up for Letang. Because Cheddamonkey37 responded to my original comment, but now I realize is he only capable of 1 word responses and completely lacks logic.
