Description

Zacha def doesn't like the idea of playing 4th line C minutes, now that NJ has solid depth through the lineup. Unfortunately for him, he had every chance to prove his worth and solidify himself as a top 6 player. Being that he has now signed with a KHL team, it shows that contract negotiations aren't going well - for this purpose of what he feel hes worth and what NJ values him as now, 4th C until Zajac is gone. I think Shero should now package him along with Vat for a Dman + pick(s).

I see everyone putting Ty Smith in their lineup, does he have a shot this year?

Would Zacha for Poolparty (with whatever picks needed to balance either side) be worth considering for both teams? Give them both fresh starts?

I think the Devils would prefer a LD, but who knows? If Puljujarvi is fine with playing 4th line minutes, then go for it.

Could be worth exploring. But does Zacha have an NHL out clause in his contract?

For EDM, if Vatanen agrees to an extension and they get Zacha as well I think it's a clear win for the oilers.
For the Devils, they add a stud dman who's physical and give up a good young player is Zacha and an expiring dman

I can understand why the devils would do it, but not from Edmonton's side. Nurse is a stud and he keeps getting better. Zacha and Vatanen - even with a reasonable extension - aren't going to be enough to convince Edmonton to trade him.
