Connor Trade Makes Most Sense here

I think?
Colorado's missing piece would be their 2LW I'd say. They have leverage in that he's an unsigned RFA. If my value is off please present a counter offer rather than sarcastic critique.

I don't know who you'd offer instead but I think WPG would want a better NHL forward than Jost. Jost is fine, but hasn't yet scored at above a 4th line rate in terms of 5v5 points per 60, so if you could throw in someone else instead (I'd say Donskoi but trading a recent signing is weird) that might be a sweet enough offer for them to consider.

Not enough for an in-division trade to a team also expected to contend in the next few years. If I were Chevy I would be asking for someone like Compher and Timmons instead of Jost. Also that's a big overpay for Connor he is looking for a 7 year deal with the Jets and the expected range is 7-8 at most. For 3 years you could pay much less.

But as a Jets fan the last place i'm trading Connor is to somewhere in the Central. IF there is a need to trade him there are plenty of teams in the East that would be interested in a scoring winger who can drive play and has experience killing penalties.

You would need to start with Timmins and kadri, 2 peices that the jets would actually want form Col as the centerpiece not a struggling player, a b prospect, a first and a 2nd

You already know Rantanen has chemistry on that top line and it won't cost you anything but money and cap space to resign him. If it were me making decisions in Colorado I would focus my energy on resigning Rantanen.

Is Timmins not Colorado's best defensive prospect not including Byram and Makar? Isn't WPG also fine on RHD? They need left, no?

Against Vegas, Washington's third line was Buravkovsky, Eller, Connolly, with Burakovsky at left. I think that's been his best moment, but yeah, he can play right. Caps fans have had long arguments about which side he's better at and I don't know. Wouldn't be surprised to see him play a little with Landeskog, and a little with Rantanen, and see what works.

WPG says no; neither Jost nor Greer is a viable enough piece for them to pull the trigger.

Sounds like the jets are more interested in moving on from laine than connor... having said that the only way connor goes to the avs is if laine cashs in huge and wpg doesnt get a good trade value where they dont have to take on salary, but that package doesnt work, jost has potential but not enough up to this date to be a good return for connor

If I'm wpg I'm trying to take your ELC's that could have impact now like a timmins or kaut or both... once they say makar or byram the deals off the table who knows.

If this trade happens jets fans, Chevy wont be in the drivers seat, itll be similar to what the Karlsson deal was but less value because connor isnt Erik Karlsson

On lhd we have jomo, heinola, and samberg by next year with Chisholm and vallatti with top 4 potential as well. We are more than good for ld. For rd we have niku (top 4), pionk (probs top 4) and a 35 yr old buff. Nothing long term. Timmins is their best prospect other than Byram and makar and he has top pairing potential. He was one of the best prospects in he game before his injury

They likely are staying put long term. We can move perreault and we have plenty of space to sign both long term. Or song Connor long term, bridge Laine (likely) and keep perreault
