As a Wings fan i'd consider something around Evgeny Svechnikov for Jesse Puljujarvi. Both could use a change of scenery here.

Habs would decline, but the other trades seem reasonable.

When Kotkaniemi is back though, Poehling gets moved to the fourth line or back down

I would be very surprised to see Ottawa trade Connor Brown. He's looked like prime Clarke MacArthur, and at only 25, they're probably looking to keep him.

Maybe they'd consider Namestnikov, if EDM wants an NHL player in return.

i don't like the expiring contract tho, and i don't think he would fit Tippets system. What about Tierny, L.Brown, Norris, Batherson, Forementon? Or Pageau in a larger deal

He has value as a trade piece. I'm not crazy about Helm, think I'd look elsewhere around the league

The better JP plays in Finland, the better the return should be for the Oilers but still that only works to an extent. Can't get to carried away either, EDM doesn't have infinite leverage here.

Poehling is 21 he just started is pro career this year why would montreal want to trade him for a players who seem too can’t perform in nhl. Montreal will send him back in laval or trade another player to make room for him. This is the worst reasoning ever.

Ottawa won't trade a top prospect to get Puljujarvi.

Tierney and Pageau are definitely on the table, but not 1 for 1. There would need to more coming back to Ottawa.

I think Namestnikov makes most sense. Maybe Ottawa gives a conditional 3rd or something if he doesn't re-sign.

Otherwise I think a B prospect +a 2nd makes sense. I think Filip Chlapik would do well in Edmonton

So? They still are not trading him for JP.

Potentially, that's no reason to sell a good prospect for someone that has struggled in the NHL.

    only for this year
eventually Domi goes to the wing and Danault goes to a shutdown line

    4 out of 5 trades aren't causing outrage. I'd say that's a win.

    Good job ?

Now I'm not a fan of Puljujarvi but that is the value is even and this is the most realistic trades I've seen between Detroit and Edmonton I've seen in a long time.
