Thoughts

Ottawa
- Josh Norris is WAY TOO low... how is this guy 44??? he's leading all rookies in scoring in the AHL. Watching this guy progress is unreal.
- Shane Pinto should also be much higher!! The guy was second on the US team in scoring and is almost a ppg in the NCAA as a freshman.

Other
- There is way too many goalies on this list... Goalie potential is so hard to predict. A lot of them end up falling off!!
- Caufield is grossly overrated. YES Skill wise - he can score but doesn't and probably will never have the physical strength to compete vs man;
- A lot of top Russian Prospects!!
- Is Shesterkin the real deal?? being number 1 as a goalie is kinda shocking?
- New york: What happend to Kravtsov?
- Winnipeg: What happened to Vesalainen???
- Edmonton: What happened to Bouchard?????

Teams with No elite prospects
- Calgary
- Carolina
- Chicago
- Edmonton
- New jersey
- San jose

Agree 100% on Caufield. Probably one of the most overrated prospects

Good post. I respect you for putting this much time and effort into a post that could help people out who aren't familiar with some of these kids. 5 stars?

It's fine the hawks have no elite prospects at the moment considering they have Dach (18) and Boqvist (19) playing in the NHL right now.

How's Dach looking in the NHL?

Wow, TSN seriously underrates some major European talent. Guys like Seider and Soderstrom are way too low on the list.

He has improved a lot since the start of the year. Looks more comfortable and you can see the skill is there. He has nice hands, solid on the forecheck and sees the play well. He is currently on a long point drought but I don't think it reflects the way he has been playing. Prior to the draft, reports said he is slow but all hawks fans have said that's not true at all after watching him. I was kinda iffy when the pick happened but now I am 100% satisfied we picked him. He still has a lot to learn but has done great for a 18 year old kid. What could improve: positioning, defense and check more. He's a big body but I don't blame a 18 year old not hitting grown NHL men all the time.

Yeh but Ty Smith didn’t even break 50 and he won CHL Defensemen of the year last year. Plus Tyce Thompson has more points than Tyler Madden and Madden is ranked higher. Pshhhhhhhh ok boomer.

Its just one guys opinion. Button has been terribly wrong before and this list is no different.........lol.........IMO.

These lists are no different than the NHL draft. Not all 1st OV are superstars and not all 5th rounders are garbage. Its a crap shoot. Not every one of those players will be a good player and plenty that aren't on it will be.

I'd personally have Primeau in the top 10.. Saw him play vs OTT and he's absolute stud.

But no, Button put him as 3rd on the MTL depth chart and outside the top 50

Someone told me he already played an NHL game before Button made list

Oh 100% percent..

And it's so hard to compare players from different leagues. There's an endless list of players in the CHL who have dominant but never made it.

Took a look at the 2019 List and you already see players that have dropped off significantly:

- Vitali Kravtosov (#1)
- Troy Terry (#4)
- Eeli Tolvanen (#7)
- Serron Noel (#20)
etc...

Yep.

These lists make people get a little too hyped up before the player even plays a single game at the pro level. Everyone's prospects are going to make it apparently.... unfortunately there simply isn't enough open spots for all of them so some of these big names are going to be busts.

But until then, fans whose players are on that list now though: Wwwwwwwhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
