I doubt the Sabres ever entertain trading Jack, but it’s hard to imagine anyone puts together a better package than this

My initial impression was not enough going to buffalo and what they’re getting isn’t comparable to Eichel. So what am I missing?

No team has the expendable assets necessary to acquire Eichel even if he and Buffalo were interested in a trade, and St. Louis is one of the teams that definitely doesn't need him. It's not as if we're talking about Anaheim or Los Angeles.

Well they’d get a top-20 defenseman who’s relatively young and signed for cheap for the next few seasons and a 20 year old center who’s arguably been the Blues best forward this season + other somewhat valuable stuff.

I agree, too costly especially for a team that has the center position under control and needs reasonable cap hits to keep things balanced.

The Rangers might be able to pull it off if they traded Kakko plus a bunch of other stuff

I feel like this would be counter productive for STL.

The main roster piece here is Parayko, a position where sabres are strongest. Trading away a position of weakness.

Shcenn, Thomas, Kyrou and the 2020+21 1sts.

Some people might cry overpay but Eichel really is that good.

They could get a better D man and better young players from a team like Carolina. However, I think Kotka, Poehling Caufield a 1st and eating Alzner's contract is what's most likely to happen here

I’d way rather do that than Parayko

We're not doing that, for all the reasons listed above. As nice as it would be to have an Eichel, big no thanks.
