How about the one where we traded our 2015 first for Hagelin I think... Hags became Pearson, Pearson became Guddy, Guddy became a 7th... That 2015 first became Mat Barzal

TBH Pens won 2 cups with Hagelin so even though the trade got wasted in the end, can’t really complain.

Both guys will be brought back probably, especially Sheary cuz the coaching staff really likes him.

They should’ve kept Kahun & traded him with other pieces for Rakell.

If only we could...
I did like what we saw from Erod and Sheary in the limited sample size though...and Kahun was streaky so the book is still open on this trade.

Exactly. I’ll make that trade again 10 times out of 10. Hagalin was an integral part of our 2016 lineup and was still a contributing factor in 2017. Barzel would be nice but 2 cups is nicer. And also we traded our first for Perron (remember him?) then Perron for hagalin

What’d you guys think happened to Conor Sheary during the 2017 cup run that led to him getting scratched? He was coming off an excellent regular season, yet during the 1st two rounds he was almost nonexistent. He wasn’t generating possession & troubling the opposition with his speed. He was turning pucks over & getting stuck in his own end which eventually got him demoted & benched for 3 games. After that, he came back flying. Was he injured? Perhaps he ran out of gas?

Yeah but Pittsburgh didn't trade 1st round picks for 3rd/4th line players.. Lol.. **** those were bad trades, don't care that Goodrow and Coleman each have an extra year of term, neither guy is worth a 1st round pick ever.

Honestly Coleman is pretty good, he is the complete package with the speed, grit & goal scoring ability. Goodrow is average but Tampa needed grit, so understandably they overpaid.

Regardless it's terrible asset management, 1sts for grit is just bad GM work, even late 1sts, it's just not worth it.

Ahh, just a slump that happened at a bad time. We did play CBJ/WSH right? Heavier teams so maybe he had nightmares or Tom Wilson.

I remember that vividly. like you said, its entirely possible he ran out of gas. Look at Guenztal. he was cold for several games and Pittsburgh considered scratching him game 1 vs Nashville and he ends up scoring the game winner. momentum is a funny thing.

I'd love to undo this Buffalo deal. At the deadline, Kahun was basically producing at the same rate as Zucker. We got trash for $900K Kahun, gave up the farm for $5.5M Zucker. Zero logic.

Sheary is married to Sullivan's daughter. Needed to get the daughter and son-in-law back into the fold.

Yes you are right. All players have slumps & the high pace high intensity game Sheary plays probably wore him out quickly.

Zucker is significantly better than Kahun but I agree I’d rather have both than just Zucker. Also where did u see sheary is married to Sully’s daughter? Never heard that
