Swapping tenders isn't gonna happen. But..... Hughes and Zacha is by far the best offer I have seen.

Not sure that's a deal the Devils do.

Yup, I just said that.

That is the best Eichel trade I’ve seen thus far. I’m not sold jersey would turn that down.

I actually am going to 2nd that notion. I get that they point is for NJD to get a franchise center...but they're missing too many pieces to make that deal worth it. What I mean by that is what happens after they get Eichel? They trade a probable franchise center for a bonafide franchise center...but they need so much more than that to be a contender. Why not wait and see if Hughes becomes what he was projected to be and use those draft picks to get some outstanding talent in a loaded draft? The franchise would be better off for their future by not trading...in my opinion of course.

I mean for Eichel suitors, Jersey is definetly interesting here because these two teams can definetly make it happen. Jersey has the assets to make it work and make reasonable and interesting for Buffalo too....but I think it all depends on how they value Eichel. Eichel and Hichier would be a potent 1-2 punch for sure. And the Sabres get their young centers, plus if NJ and Buffalo want to you with moving around money to dump off to Buffalo for a couple years like Subban , Schneider? They can.

It may not be exact but if Jersey was interested I’d say Hughes and one of their top draft picks this year would be a good base for the deal.

Could be. There is certainly something to work with in New Jersey.

I think Highes and Zacha are the starting points thiugh. Long term, gives Buffalo Hughes, Cozens and Zacha. That's similar to what is in Jersey now. Be more tempted to go Subban honestly, with Jersey eating about $1-2 million of that deal (they can), which makes Subban a flippable piece if Buffalo assume $3.5 million of the remaining cap hit. Subban at $3.5 million would be appealing to a few teams.

If nj thinks they can win now or the next couple years then they do it.

make it the AZ 1st instead of NJD 1st and I would probably do it from NJ's point of view, similar to an Eichel offer I proposed in the past. that pick (6th oa right now) is just far too valuable to the future for us, we need to have some decent pieces to build around Eichel or else we'll have the same issue Buffalo did and he'll want out in a few years

If Hughes and Zacha are involved we can debate if it's a first rounder at all. That's a very strong offer without a pick. Odds are Buffalo is gonna want one, so I would 100% make it the worst of the lot and not budge.

as a Devils fan yup I agree, though I do love Eichel and would be super close to accepting this. the NJD 1st is what pushes it over the top for me, would have to be AZ 1st and then maybe another smaller asset

their window would probably be the start of the 21-22, if Hischier develops like he should that 1-2 punch down the middle would be insane. Blackwood looks like he could be a legit #1 too, biggest thing would be depth and trying to construct a half decent blue line. It would be tough but doable, Eichel and Nico would make NJ an attractive destination for any UFA wingers

From a Dallas perspective, I like that trade. I could see Montour as a nice pair with Miro, slide Klinger down with Lindell on 2nd pairing, could mix up when needed, etc. Don't necessarily want Johansson, but he can fill a void (especially with salary retention) that will be likely left by Perry and Janmark. Solid potential there.

I did an ACGM where I signed Edmundson and DeMelo to round out a top 4 that included Butcher and Severson. I think that is a good foundation moving forawrd. Lots of time to add depth organizationally if they went and did that. They need to do it, but right now, it needs help.

i'm a Devils fan but are we sure of this? I don't know if he'll get to Eichel's level, certainly won't in terms of goal scoring ability

Sending Hughes and a 1st is fine,it's just too much future and current players in this proposal for 1 player , the same player who hasn't brought Buffalo to the playoffs which indicates he also wouldn't bring NJ to the playoffs.

maybe so, but if I'm Buffalo I'm not trading him unless it's a massive return coming back. Blackwood looks to be a legit #1 of the future which Buffalo hasn't really had in Eichel's tenure, Nico will be a far better 2nd line center than anyone in that organization... I think NJ would have a better shot at building a team around him. I wouldn't include our own 1st, we need that pick too much but aside from that I would be real close to pulling the trigger personally.

Fair enough, personally I'd wait till Buffalo fails again next season cause Botts is aweful and will fail to get Eichel players to win - Once Eichel demands a trade acquisition costs go way down
