He's a #4 pick who's best season was 36 points. He's roughly a 3C so you might get lucky and get a 2nd at best for him. He's still young at 23 and needs a chance of scenery.

Dominik Simon or Sam Lafferty and a 3rd. Valuewise I would give a 2nd if we had one. Could also be interested in moving Hornqvist for a larger package from Calgary

Id trade Johnsson for him if you include 3rd round pick with Bennett.

Bennetts value is pretty low..

I'd do Bennet for Johnsson 1 for 1. Bennet is cheaper and brings a little more physicality.

I'd still rather take the 3rd + 4th though.

If anyone offers a 2nd you take it any day of the week. The Flames failed Bennett, he was developed incredibly poorly.

I wont.. Johnsson is potentially 55 point top-6 guy.. Bennett is bottom-6 winger who would have what? 30 points on Leafs? Leafs already have a grinder like him, his name is Clifford and he is cheaper.. the only thing I would want Bennett for is his moustache.

Production is different than value, Bennett has way more upside and has done more with less surrounding him offensively

To an extent. They're fairly equal.

Johnsson's value is down and Bennett brings much of what the leafs need... cap freedom, physicality, the ability to play LW/C/RW, also a bounceback player.

It's a 1 for 1. Better player (slightly) for the more flexible player

No way we're resigning Clifford. Picks are important.

Besides Engvall is younger and plays a similar role. We could also get Maroon or Nosen or some other grinder/enforcer without paying a 2nd.

Yeah but where does he fit into the lineup:

Hyman-JT-Marner
Mikheyev-34-Nylander
Robertson-Kerfoot-Kappy
Engvall-Spezza-Barabanov

Unless we move Kerfoot we don't need him.

Noesen almost for certain saying on the Sharks. Maroon isn't that good, and probably would rather go to other teams

They are re-signing Clifford. Moving down 30 spots is less crucial in draft like 2021 draft.. and you get a natural leader in him. Engvall is not it.

I don't think Robertson makes the jump this year. So that spot. Also does to an extend remain pending on if Kerfoot is traded for a RD

Bennett for Johnsson IS pretty much a straight up deal for a few reasons.

1) It shoulf not be a secret the Leafs are shopping him (or Kerfoot, Kappy 😡) to shed cap. This will impact value.

2) Bennett's game involves jam and tenacity. Although his regular seasons are meh, he his gold in the playoffs..... and the last time the Leafs won a playoff round was.....????

3) Bennett can in fact play all 3 foward positions. We can argue about how well, but in a pinch he certainly can.

4) Undoubtedly, Johnsson will be an offensive upgrade for Calgary, but Treveling also values a level of toughness on his team - he in on record saying so; and this is evidenced by his attempt at Kadri, amd his acquisition of Lucic.

5) Back to Johnsson's offensive. He and Magnipane can fight for 2nd line minutes. Johnsson is capable, Bennett never could do it.

Both players bring different skills sets, and bith players meet the needs to the clubs respectively. Anyone who suggests a pick can be had with Bennett, I would counter argue with, "Bennett and Kapanen on your third line are going to be very difficult to play against". Which is very true. Johnsson's offensive game is offset by a Leaf need to shed a few bucks and add a Bennett element.

I see it as straight up.

Well then we just play Engvall lol. He's 23, huge, a solid hitter, and super cheap. Doesn't hurt he was on a 30 pt pace on the 4th line.

God I hope not. It also means that we have to send Engvall down to the A which I'd hate to do.

Also although the 2021 draft isn't top-heavy, it has great depth and knowing Dubas's drafting he could get a solid roster player using a mid-2nd for sure.

engvall is overrated. he doesn't belong outside of the fourth line. He cooled off quite quickly after exploding out of the gates.

Well we also have Korshkov. He's a big 6'4 power forward who can throw the body and put the puck in the net.

If we move Kerfoot then for sure we make that trade, but there's no way we have a winger spot for him with Barabanov, Robertson, Korshkov, Gauthier, and Brooks all looking NHL ready.

Nothing is definite but from what I know, the highest possibility is him staying.
