Description

Staal gets CBO’d, Reimer gets regular bought out, Williams retires, Gardiner gets traded (I don’t see why Boston wouldn’t be on his limited trade list), and Hurricanes get 4th line depth and a legit elite goaltender. They’re going all in for the next couple of years at all costs. They will only run 21 men for the roster, but they’re still legit.

Holtby would be a mistake. He's been declining for years, and he'll be 31 by the time he starts this 7 year deal. Whoever signs Holtby will regret it within two years.

i saw arizona and was expecting a raanta trade... that would be an upgrade. Holtby is a strong playoff goalie, but i'd be worried to have him on my team.

If somehow krug signed else where and chara retired Gardiner at half salary might not be the worst option. Idk for that price though. If you want to spend money on a goalie it lehner or markstrom this offseason. Holtby looked cooked but there are alot of goalies in play this offseason.

Jake Gardiner in his last 3 game 7s in Boston is like a -9 and has been on the ice for a majority of every goal in each leafs game 7 collapse. I think Boston would rather keep him on the other side.

IMO CAR's biggest problem is in net, but Holtby on a long term deal isn't the answer. Holtby on a 1 year prove it deal makes sense.

We're the last team in the league that would trade for Gardiner. Rewatch the 2013, 2018 and 2019 Game 7s.
