im not sure la does that. theres no incentive for them to take rfa rights for a player they have at 700k that was real good for them last year. Thats an interesting deal for severson.

Why would the Kings do that?

would you go Kapanen + Lilly? Kap fits the Devils needs better, and Sevo at 2M for 3 seasons is incredible value

If you send Rosén to the marlies, ou have enough space to keep Kerfoot, who is a better 3C than copp IMO

LA absolutely says no. Making this trade just moves the hole from the right side to the left side, and RHD are much harder to come by.

Dermott isn't the type of player that solves the issue that the Kings are looking to solve. They want a veteran guy with top-line experience who can play big minutes next to Doughty. They don't need him to be an all-star, they just need him to play solid defensive minutes to free up Doughty to go do his thing, while also helping to provide leadership and mentoring to Anderson and Clague. Someone like Hjalmarsson, Leddy, or even Marc Staal would fit in that role. At age 23, Dermott doesn't help.

I wouldn't not with Liljegren headed out as well, maybe if it's something like Severson Zacha and a mid rnd pick for Kap Kerfoot and Liljegren?
